And to answer a question asked earlier (who is better, Ray or Sophia), it's Ray. Hands down, no questions asked. Sophia comes at level 1 with stats so low she can't do anything and a Con so low she can't even hold her book. Ray's got some issues too, but his base stats...

(On my first playthrough of FE6 I stuck with Wolt and Sue to the bitter end.)
Except almost every other unit in the game is just as overpowered, and they aren't hilariously fragile. besides, those extra nine levels aren't worth much because of Ross' poor base stats and rather lackluster growths.

Nope. The Tactician vanishes after FE7, and to be honest he probably never existed at all (it's possible to play without a Tactician just by starting from Eliwood/Hector's Tale) considering Hector's death at the beginning of FE6.
Let's count the problems with Assassins, shall we?
1) Don't exist in FE6.
2) Exist in FE7, but only by using a ridiculously expensive item to promote characters with low strength growth into a class that is basically a subpar Myrmidon.
