The bird itself could be flying or grounded. It's in a dark tomb i technically can't see into o:

The tomb itself though snagged the bird when it was close to the ground, so it's a semi-grounded tomb. Totally not me forgetting flying tomb was a thing. It shouldn't matter regardless, considering the tomb is weak enough from the hp you could break it easily with another such attack.

I don't really see a hint at proximity, since your Dig was simply evasive and didn't strike Ralts when you resurfaced. Then Venoshock and Hypnosis are both ranged, so... I mean I know they're not ridiculously far or anything but still.
