Do you know how annoying Eviolite Sableye would have been? Also, with Mawile having already gained a Mega, Sableye netting a permanent evolution would have felt wrong.

Wait, wait. Firstly, I thought that the fifth generation had different themes; secondly, what would any of its themes have to do with its Pokémon's abilities to Mega Evolve?

I can see it happening. What about its design do you disagree with?

Have you read the news?

New Mega Evolutions. None of which were hidden in the games' coding. If there were placeholders, we never knew about them.

There can still be more Mega Evolutions.

Other Pokemon still have a chance to score big with Mega Evolution. (I'm crossing my fingers for Honchkrow, Hydreigon, and Sableye now. Of those three, I find Sableye and Hydreigon very likely. I just hope that Honchkrow isn't just wishful thinking on my part.)

I don't know. Mega Evolutions seems pretty unlikely, in my opinion. Why wouldn't they have them in the coding for X and Y if they were Mega Evos?
