I got to a chain of 32 lastnight of Togepi (holy crap, second highest ever!), I asked my boyfriend if I should carry on with it, or start reseting the Radar for a shiny. He tells me to keep going. AND IT BREAKS.

Yeah, I get to chains of 20 and now get shinies at all. it's a .05% chance of getting one at a chain of 3, so I was REALLY lucky.
Found a random encounter shiny on this game as well! =D LOL, while I was chaining for the exact same species, found it in a non-shiny patch >DHell yeah!!! =Dheh LoL....Did you really lick it?Damn it!!!
