Wow, for once XY doesn't look like a string of horrible Ash glorification episodes. Seems like they're finally picking up the pace.

It definitely has some criticisms that people seem to want to avoid. It feels almost like a quicker paced Johto Region, what with the filler between Gyms. I really think BW2 onwards (anime wise) set the forums bar and standards real low. I don't hate it, but I'm not enjoying it like a lot of the comment's of praise people write nearly every episode.

I agree. I think the potential of the group dynamic is obviously there, but it's not getting anywhere yet. As for this recent arc, the first two episodes of summer camp were great, the second two were kinda weak (yeah battles are fun but the plot was kinda bland). But in terms of the recent stretch as a whole, I do think it's kinda picking up, even if Serena chose (well possibly as they word it) one of the most boring goals in existence.

You don't have to destroy Conkeldurr in an OHKO move to showcase how agile that Squirtle can be since strength is a different subject... Everything could have been done in the same period of time (since you mentioned that it would take longer) and yet they decided to glorify Squirtle, anyway. It has nothing to do how big and strong X is, it's just ridiculous how they dealt with that scene. Too hard to understand?

Yeah, some people only like a character for shipping or fanservice. Like Hikari. Today's episode was good though.

21 episodes actually. :P Yeah, Satoshi is pretty bland most of the time, in-general I've been finding myself more and more cynical when it comes to him. I hope he gets some great Pokemon in XY I can care about, I'm hoping Keromatsu can finally get a big win. The guy deserves it after his current streak.

Yeah, I should act more like that in-general. Tumblr is my haven for more chill discussions honestly and positive stuff. Yeah, no rival most likely. Team Flare is nice and at least they're confirmed 100% now. I'm hoping Serena's rival will be more than shipping fodder, I don't think she'll go beyond one episode but I'm hoping I'm proven wrong and this character can finally get off the ground and show us what she can do.

Yeah, I'm thinking about doing that too. I agree the last couple of XY episodes have been really weak and they're really inconsistent about the quality of them unfortunately. Plus in-general I thinking I'm angering a good number of Ash fans on this forum with my Ash Ketchum critique of him in XY so I'm thinking of taking a step back from this. Serena, I like her at times, but yeeeah, she's been bland the majority of the time without Bonnie to play off of. Manon's a cutie though and awesome, did more than Serena did in all of XY. Alan's pretty cool, can't wait to see this episode subbed.
