There's nothing wrong with trying reviewing and seeing how it goes, but I'm just letting you know that it's not for everyone, so don't feel bad if it doesn't work out for you.

Also, not all reviewers are great when they start out, but they improve over time. I started reviewing about five years ago, and honestly, I used to be mean, and I wasn't as helpful as I am now. Nobody ever told me "hey, maybe you should be nicer" or "your reviewing skills need improvement," so I thought it might be helpful to give you some tips. It wasn't something you had to panic over - it was just some honest criticism to help you improve your reviewing skills, the same way people criticize fics to make your writing better.

In that case, maybe reviewing isn't for you. It's not for everyone, after all.

The problem isn't how "strict" you are - it's how rude you are. There is a difference: if I said "this story is bad" VS "this story can use improvement," which would you prefer? It's as simple as that - treat others the way you wish to be treated.

You are not in trouble. As long as you take my advice and change the way you review, there won't be a problem.
