I personally like halberds the most.(Though there aren't any in final fantasy).
Swing it around like an axe mowing everything down, someone decides to run, you can use it as a spear...

Best tip, use healing staff in the random battles to save healing spells and last longer.
Have one character attacking with spells via item(Gauntlets, Thor's hammer, Mage's staff etc.)
The others using healing staff and helms.

You can do that easily if you know what to do.
The final boss can be beaten with the Masamune(the katana all characters can use, you find it in the final dungeon...)
So, set up with Giant's gloves, keep attacking with it.
Have Holy as support spells and heal every so often.
And yeah, NulAll for the elemental damage...

Protera+Invisira
With healing when needed.

But at those two locations you can get killed before setup.
Winter wolf Icestorm spam, White dragons(More icestorm), And Ice Gigas
Cavern of Ice

Mindflayer(Can kill in one hit)
Medusa(Can turn you to stone)
Citadel of trials

And red dragons in Mt.Gulg

I thought you beat the game already?

It's pretty easy up that point.
Citadel of Trials/Cavern of Ice are way harder(Especially if you go there before Mt. Gulg)

Well, Purity forest and the shiny were all luck based, while Final fantasy tested my patience.
I could only deal 1 HP at a time VS Astos...
