Hmm.. A tricky thing to do indeed. I'm sorry to say that that animation is not the correct way of going about it. B/W style animations usually contain artificially rotated pieces and parts, and they have many frames so they look fluid. The one you made is jerky due to a lack of frames and has no rotated parts. It's quite difficult to sprite in that style without a program that can rotate sprites properly.
(The animation doesn't make much sense either. Is it sashaying?)
