It is so obvious you have either:
1. Never used it.
2. Never heard of Ubuntu.
You also don't know that:
1. The interface is completely customizable with thousands of different looks and effects. In fact, you can actually make it look exactly like any Windows or Mac distribution with even more effects than the actual Mac or Windows has.
2. It does not have a few basic funtions. Almost all mainstream programs work with any Linux distribution. If not, then you get Wine and run the program through that on Linux, works just as well.
