Ah, that thing. That was mostly with regards to the bit where you said Hazel's story wasn't there for wangst, because it sorta came out of left-field. I get the dedication part, that's cool, but when you explicitly deny an accusation that nobody's raised (it being wangst in this case) it gives the impression that you expected me to think that it was just cheap wangst, which makes it sound like you aren't confident in how you portrayed it. That bit stuck out to me because until the point when I read it, I never thought of it as such. I was on the fence as to whether or not to bring it up and the comment got added last minute, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was unclearly worded, but in the end I thought I should mention it because attaching those kinds of comments to your story is a little like you putting your own work down before anyone's said a bad word about it, which is pretty awkward for a reader. S'what I meant by saying it's better to let the story speak for itself.
