The Isle of Armor & The Crown Tundra DLC - RUMOR & SPECULATION Thread [Spoilers]

The protagonist's jersey references the Direct's respective date. The Leaders' jerseys, as discovered by someone on Bulbapedia, have Goroawase wordplay. 831 can be read as "yasai" (vegetables), 049 can be read as "oyogu" (to swim).

The Isle of Armor & The Crown Tundra DLC - RUMOR & SPECULATION Thread [Spoilers]

That's what I think too. Either that or they'll go the way of Team Flare and appear to be buffoons but turn out to have a shockingly evil plot beneath the surface. Skull 2.0 is more likely, though.

Pokemon Sword and Shield Characters Discussion Thread

I still think there's something fishy about them identifying Leon as the Champion this early. They never do that, the Champion's identity is always meant to be a twist – with one exception. I can't help but think something similar is going to happen here.

Gen 8 Gym Types and Structure Speculation Thread

Bug Badge and Psychic Badge are better in the Japanese version, since they're not the types' names (Mushi and Esper, respectively), but underwhelming in English -- the second case even more so, since they could've just switched the names and called it the Esper Badge.

Pokemon Sword & Shield GENERAL DISCUSSION Thread [Spoilers]

Kalos Dex had 457 out of 721. It's not too far-fetched. And, as others have stated, this is a different situation; possible patches aside, the regional Dex is all we're gonna get.

    Character Customization Discussion Thread

I'm actually glad the GO-style encounters are gone, and they weren't nearly as well-established as customization it at this point, to be fair.

Pokemon Sword & Shield GENERAL DISCUSSION Thread [Spoilers]

Not to say the theory is spot-on, but the Pokédex does call Cyndaquil a "Fire Mouse Pokémon".

Pokemon Sword & Shield GENERAL DISCUSSION Thread [Spoilers]

Such as battling 2-3 wild Pokémon and then a stronger wild Pokémon, instead? It's not like Gyms don't have puzzles you need to solve too. I blame the localization team for some of those. Names like Bug Badge and Psychic Badge are fine for the Japanese version (where the types are Mushi and...

Pokemon Sword & Shield GENERAL DISCUSSION Thread [Spoilers]

I'd like the Gyms back. I don't think they need to change everything about the formula, especially when we're talking about core elements of the series, and, honestly, I've always loved the Gyms and looked forward to new ones. (Also, the Trials didn't work for me at all.)

Features from Let's Go you'd like to see return in Gen 8?

I have a question about 8 for you people who played Let's Go. Is the feature disabled during certain points of the game, like the Pokémon League challenge? Otherwise I think it'd make the challenge too easy. I particularly like the IV judge method, the Pokémon following, the rideable Pokémon...

    New type

They do have wings, but so do a number of other winged Pokémon that are not Flying-types, some of them Dragons too. And it's their first type, as opposed to every other non-Tornadus Flying Pokémon. I've always figured the primary Flying type was meant to evoke the sound waves traveling through...

    New type

That's not the same thing. Wind moves are considered part of the Flying type, just like space related things are considered part of the Psychic type, and pollution related things are considered part of the Poison type. They're very consistent, even though, theoretically, they all could be...

    New type

Chatter. Noibat and Noivern's kinda awkward typing. They don't need to include a Sound type, but there's certainly a "gap" there that allows it, just like there was for the Fairy type before.
  14. Ver-mont

    New type

I could see a Sound type, since we have a number of scattered sound-based mechanics and elements, without a dedicated type to unify them. As others have mentioned, however, there's the type balance to consider. Until now, new types were only added when Game Freak felt they needed to improve the...

    The game's titles

I could actually see 'Crown' as a final name, but 'Scepter' doesn't sound that marketable to me.

How many of you are already dead set in getting possible Gen 4 remakes?

I'm excited for them, as long as they don't forget we already have an enhanced Sinnoh game. I really liked ORAS, but I feel like they should have incorporated more of Emerald's contributions to the original pair.

Pokemon USUM SPOILER Thread (Enter at your own risk!)

Yes, you just can't send incompatible Pokémon (including incompatible learned moves) to SM. Pretty much like XY and ORAS.

Iirc it's Necrozma. I think Nihilego isn't even mentioned during the main story.

I don't know if it was pointed out here, but it seems Flat Rules no longer apply to the Normal course of the Battle Tree, only the Super course. Very interesting.

Pokemon USUM SPOILER Thread (Enter at your own risk!)

Are you sure? There's data indicating that after you complete Mina's trial, you go to Exeggutor Island to challenge Hapu. I think I've seen someone who was playing saying she isn't faced by the canyon anymore too (even though I think there's data for that, but it might be leftover from SM).
