One of the "leaks" said Arbok will get a new pattern. Considering the official site says that they "can have different appearances and types", I think it's plausible that some of the Alola versions will only be cosmetic changes.

I would expect it to be pokemon that have a smaller fanbase, but some fanbase. For example: Pikachu's too popular to mess with and Unown isn't liked enough to get special treatment.

Yeah, Slakoth for Makuhita is available in Rustboro, only one I've seen so far, but I'm only 2 gyms in as of yet.
