Final party of Ash vs Leon = Peak, on par with exhibition battle during Sun and Moon. Ash vs Cynthia was well written, but I didn't feel the rush of emotions I had during Pikachu vs Charizard.
M8 = 7/10, PWC as a whole = 6/10.
Ash vs Leon = 9/10, Ash vs Cynthia 8/10
After watching all of Round 1, I don't feel any real excitement. Same can be said for Sun and Moon for me, but the exhibition battle was some of the best and most hype scenes in anime history. Don't have high hopes, but don't mind being pleasantly surprised at the end.
I felt like Kalos was...
Competent enough to win the battle royale and has shown strong capabilities in support. Looks like any trainer could trial for Project Mew, provided they could complete the missions.
Out of the battles listed, I really enjoyed Ash vs Kukui the most. Art style really complimented the animation. It was dynamic, action packed, and that Sun and Moon crazy charm to it.
I think the most thought out battle would be Ash vs Paul in the Sinnoh League conference. It had a more...
I feel like the animation is cutting corners, but it's made up on how expressive the characters are. I'd like to see a serious battle. Feels weird that Team Rocket isn't in every episode anymore.
Ash's Pikachu is far from reset.
I love how they keep Jessie's character consistent throughout all the generation. She's not one to remember Pokemon moves and always goes with the flow, while James is always a bit more competent and level headed, but just as goofy. Small tidbits like that...
I'd like to see an anime interpretation to:
1. Zinnia's theme
2. Galar Gym Battle Music
3. Toby Fox's Theme
4. Bede's Theme
I felt like the recent anime rendition of gen 8 wild Pokemon battles was done wonderfully. I honestly can't wait for new OSTs in the anime.
The manga consistently has a story that is more engaging, often with unusual Pokemon picks as well as introduction to several legendary/mythical Pokemon as major plot points. I think Anime highs are better, but manga scores better with me.
Mid FB. I can't imagine him being stronger than Branden when he controls 3 Regis in a 6v6, even with Tapu Koko. I wonder if Braden would be considered E4 strength though... He's a pretty big outlier.
