Yes. People can rename pets they got from someone else in the real world. Same should apply to Pokemon. I would have really liked to rename my Adamant Speed Boost Torchic.

Same here. I don't really care for them one way or the other. Blastoise's Mega ability bites, because, other than Water Pulse, you have to breed for egg moves to make Mega Launcher worthwhile. Hope they bring back move tutors in Pokemon Z (if there is one.)

I was most disappointed with Gen 5 starters. Emboar was one fire/fighting too many, and Samurott did absolutely nothing for me. Serperior however became my fave grass type.

I had an intense dislike for Pikachu long before I ever started playing. Pikachu was everywhere and I hated it. Wasn't until I played a borrowed copy of Blue that I really gave Pokemon a chance.

I dislike that Grass types are now immune to powder moves, Electric pokemon can't be paralized, etc. Water types got shafted IMO. Steels too when they lost their resistance to Ghost and Dark
