I mean, there are 4 non Ash battles. Leon vs Diantha basically is a slideshow while Leon vs Alain was a rushed one-shot festival.
I don’t think that showing Iris vs Cynthia and Lance vs Diantha strained their budget too much considering that the alternative would’ve been a 6 v 6 between Ash and...
Pikachu
Lucario
Sirfetch’d
Dracovish
Gengar
Dragonite <-> Greninja
Greninja isn’t really his Pokémon anymore, but if we count him in, than I’d throw Dragonite out of the team.
Not really, because it is exactly what happened. Gengar and arguably Lucario got their W’s due to G-Max and ME respectively. Ash won because Leon allowed him to go all out.
Why should it be embarrassing to defeat the 2nd strongest trainer in the world with the official tournament rules?
Lol...
I mean, Ash probably knows himself that he still has room to grow. He only barely defeated Leon because he had access to 4 (!) gimmicks, 2 of them being used by his strongest Pokémon, as opposed to Leon’s 2 (out of which only 1 was used with Charizard).
Yeah I don’t get it either. It’s not that anything happened in PM during those episodes, Goh could’ve just left after watching the battle. The decision to not have anyone else in the stadium also baffled me, the stadium is huge so everyone sitting somewhere else for the silent cameos would’ve...
While I agree with the first half of your post, I seriously doubt that his Alola team would’ve stood a chance against Bea. Rowlet is a stage 1 Pokémon, Lycanroc and Melmetal are weak to fighting and the team in general is in a pretty awkward spot when you look at their feats and experience (or...
Would‘ve been nice to get cameos of the former dream crushers - Ritchie, Harrison, Tyson, Tobias, Cameron and Alain. Though I guess Ritchie/Tyson/Alain already appeared in some capacity in this arc and they probably don‘t want to touch Tobias ever again.
I was annoyed that Leon didn‘t use Max Quake with Cinderace, but to be fair, even if he did the anime would‘ve probably given us some sort of “Pikachu‘s Max Power is so much that the attack still worked on Cinderace“ explanation, similar to the Electivire battle, and seeing a huge fire rabbit...
Pikachu‘s only “bad“ result in this series were the Bea battles, which isn‘t that bad though. He was an absolute beast in this battle, you could really see his determination.
It still somehow feels weird that only Chloe and Dawn were watching this live from the stands. They could‘ve send Goh to PM after the battle, and the others only watching from the TV felt weird
It took Ash 2 G-Max, 1 Mega Evolution, 1 Z-Move, 1 Aura Attack and the power of friendship to defeat Leon. That guy is still the ultimate trainer in my book.
I‘m not ashamed to admit that I cried several times throughout this episode. The last 3 years, no, 25 years all have led to this moment. And when the big moment really happened, I couldn’t contain myself anymore.
MORPEKKO IS FINALLY NOT HUNGRY ANYMORE!
I would even be ok if the Roaming form is unobtainable without Go, it’s understandable that they want to promote that game, too. So having a different form depending on which game the Mon was caught is a good middle ground.
But Meltan was just handled atrociously, promoted in the SM anime and...
