I don't really post much any more, so wasn't around when the 'Sylveon is weak to poison, strong against Ice etc." thing came about, but I find it interesting that no one seems to be entertaining the possibility that Sylveon has the Multitype ability, and there is no new type. I posted the idea a...
Magic type *shot*
I would not get your hopes up for Light or Sound types, we get these predictions every new gen, and every time there aren't new types.
I'm aware of that, I've been around for pre-release info before. I just thought I would give some input to the conversation other than "it's flying" "nuh-uh!":)
Forgive me but I'm too busy to follow the Pokemon news dedicatedly at the moment, but has Sylveon's typing actually been described as '???'
If so, has anyone considered the possibility that it might have the Multitype ability? I mean, why else would they be so secretive about it's type (unless...
I'm gonna go ahead and say Pinkeon is dragon, because of the old 'Eevee evolves into special types' argument. If Altaria can be Dragon, so can this.
That's what I hope for anyway, I'm sure something else is more likely though.
So I've said some of this today already today, but my speculation/hopes for the starters are:
Chespin- Grass/Steel. A Hedgehog with metal spikes on it's back, and a larger, more tough looking version of the chestnut helmet
Froakie- Water/Ice
Fennekin- Fire/Psychic
I don't have any particular...
Apparently all of Chespin's international names reference the fact that it's a hedgehog, not a chipmunk.
And yet most, if not all evolutions have had some kind of logic or backstory to them. It may be that this series is complete fantasy, but that doesn't mean the creators do not try to stick...
I can't see a Fox (canine) evolving into a Tiger (feline). Maybe next gen eh?
Thanks for the hedgehog confirmation slowkingsley, I'm liking Chespin more by the minute.
As I said above, I'm hoping for Grass/Steel final form Chespin, as well as Water/Ice for Froakie (though I can't see a cold...
I'd like Chespin to end up as Grass/Steel. We only have Ferroseed/Ferrothorn with that typing at the moment, and it's pretty likely that as a chestnut/hedgehog hybrid that it's going to have some spikes. Most likely on it's head and back. Steel would be a good match in that case.
More like X and Y will match the theme of the story, just like how when they "ran out of colours" for BW it actually turned out that the titles matched the story and theme of the legendaries perfectly.
I would disagree with you there. It's ok to have initial criticisms, as long as people understand that they'll likely change them once the shock of a new gen is over. Personally, even now I find myself liking the starters more than I did an hour ago.
Basically, I think the starters look fanmade for the moment. I'm confident once I see the evolutions I'll withdraw that opinion, as everything else I saw in that trailer I thought looked bloomin' wonderful! I have high hopes for the rest of the lines. For the record, I prefer the 'Y' legendary...
My initial thoughts are actually that the starters designs and names look almost fan designed, but I'm sensible enough to wait before I write off the whole generation. I'm certain X and Y will be good on the whole, GF aren't going to let us down- the whole thing looks anything but rushed...
