Battling Experience: I've been competitively battling since the end of 4th gen, but really got seriously into it in 5th gen.
Would you like a test battle to be...
1. Yes, Infernape isn't viable (As I stated in the first sentence), however it can work on occasion, as it can gain bulk from dual screens. You have to come in on the right Pokemon for it to work in anyway and Toxic cripples most any set that has to stay in for more than a few turns.
2. Power...
I've got two little troll-ish sets for you guys today featuring two of my favorite Pokemon:
Infernape (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Protect
- Torment
- Encore
- Fire Spin
This set isn't too viable but it's fun if you can pull it off...
I hadn't even realized that Magmortar dropped from RU O_o but apparently many other people haven't either because out of the 20 test battles I've had, Ive yet to see one. I think I will get rid of Tenta for Lanturn. Or maybe even Torkoal for a Magmortar of my own. Thoughts?
I've been on a losing streak; the most recent teams I've made just haven't been performing how I'd like them to. This is the closest I've come to a decent team in the past few months:
Frosty (Snover) (M) @ Eviolite Trait: Snow Warning
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
-...
Thanks 3.14. I love it when they send it something to counter it then get screwed over when I get extra hazards up. I really want this team to be great cause I'm going to feature it in my first YouTube video once I iron out it's problems (and once I find an opponent who actually plays this tier ._.)
The ability itself has no meaning unless you include the Pokemon that gets it :/ That's the last I'm gonna say on it 'cause (almost) any ability could be better than another depending on the situation.
Yeah but the Poke that gets it has so many common weaknesses (not to mention a weakness to Stealth Rock and vulnerability to Sandstorm, Hail, and every damaging status)
I have to give my vote of best ability to Magic Bounce (with Pure/Huge Poer coming in a close second just because of the Pokemon that get it *apologizes to Medicham*). Magic Bounce reflects pretty much every move that does not deal direct damage and is bestowed upon an amazing Pokemon in Espeon.
Mantric is a boss if you give him proper team support. I personally think that he is one of the most underappreciated Pokes out there. Specs +1 Thunderbolt hurts so much in RU when it's counters are taken out.
Tbh, I forgot he learned it. But I still like Flamethrower's consistency if I don't get the chance to switch out late-game, or I have Switcheroo'd my Specs away and i can stay in. If i can get him a 'Rod boost, Flamethrower will be plenty powerful enough for anything in RU anyway. I'll slash it...
That's what I was thinking, but I do sometimes miss that extra power if I only get the chance to set up one DD. And Sub does prevent any crippling statuses (Crawdaunt doesn't like taking any of them) so I do enjoy having that.
I'm back guys! I've been crazy super busy lately and just haven't had time to do much of anything. I think I've had like an hour or two of free time per week; most of which were spent napping. Despite this, I'm posting my most recent project, an RU Team. This has preformed pretty well...
Thanks for reading guys. But Deoxys-N isn't meant for sweeping or anything similar. He is meant to take out specific threats (i.e. weather starters and the like) and does it better than any other Pokemon I've tried. If you can suggest another weather counter that works better than I would...
