I always thought XY was the one where Ash suddenly changed. He got so serious and emotionless. And I don't necessarily mean this as hate for XY, because as a standalone series, I think it's fantastic. But Ash feels like a different character than OS or post-XY Ash.

I agree. I can't imagine them ending the anime without also a proper conclusion for the TRio. And Ash needs to beat Giovanni. If that ever happens, it's over.

I still don't really think this is the ending.. I also don't think they'd leave writing the last episode ever to Shoji Yonemura, even though he's been around for so long.

Can anyone determine for sure that this is fake? He's also the one that posted that anime poster with Grookey, Eevee and Pikachu, so why would he say it's ending. Unless he means it's going to enter its final arcs soon.

Am I right in thinking this episode was a minute longer than most Journeys episodes? If so, was that length kept for the dub or did they cut stuff?

Interesting that they'd claim there are 54 episodes left, especially since I can't imagine them showing the three recap episodes (due to them being very Japanese-geared). The way things are quickly wrapping up, there'd have to be a whole new arc if there are really that many episodes left.

IF there is a villain arc, it could be a Giovanni-centered one to finally say goodbye to Team Rocket, but that might be the pessimist in me thinking that.. :(

Z-Move Pikachu, Gengar, Krookodile, Snorlax, Melmetal, Ash-Greninja. Not necessarily his most iconic team, but you asked for threatening, and I feel like with good AI this would be a great boss battle.

When it comes to pacing etc. I think SM really didn't benefit from the weekly episodes. It works a lot better if you watch the episodes closer together.
