Excuse me but what in the world are you talking about? I have to ask you an honest question: have you ever played XY or SM? Like, have you ever seen those games? Because that's PRECISELY what they did - they straight up reused animations from XY for all pokemon (other than the new ones...
I could say the same about you lot praising new Pokemon or new features (or graphics, lol xD). That won't change anything either, but you're still doing that, are you not? This is the discussion forum and there's nothing to discuss if everybody will parrot each other and praise GameFreak like...
The only thing from Pokemon GO was catching mechanic. The rest was exactly what previous Pokemon games were like.
Nice try but no. The Switch most definitely didn't just suddenly materialize. GF being first party developers, surely had the devkits which is what me and DMB1985 said...
Ahaha, if I know jack about game development, you seem to know even less.
Edit: Pretty much what DMB1985 said. He and Sapphire (next post) below obviously know jack about game development, just like myself. :D
Imagine games like Skyrim, Witcher 3, Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Xenoblade exist. All huge (and I mean, HUGE) open world games. Must have been incredibly hard to develop them. Those devs must have had way more budgets to make those games...Oh wait, Pokemon is actually the most expensive...
That's what the teams of Zelda: Breath of the Wild did (and are doing again), that's what Monolith Soft are doing. That's what the devs of Metroid Prime 4 are doing. Again, stop using "but it's too hard and not simple at all" excuse. It's Pokemon! They sure as heck can afford hiring armies of...
Are you serious? :D
DUH! Of course Sword/Shield looks better than Gen IV or Gen VII. Switch is not a 3DS and it's infinitely more powerful than the DS.
Why shouldn't it? Those games don't belong to the world's biggest media franchise, which costs billions! Why would you NOT want SwSh to look...
At the time of its release, Switch got quite some praise from third party developers, who were saying the platform is surprisingly easy to develop for. And those were third party developers. You would think GameFreak, being Nintendo's first party (pretty much) would know how to make games for...
Not "can't". WON'T.
If you are going to argue about that, could you answer one question first? How come they could create models, animations and textures for more than 720 Pokemon for XY from scratch but can't for some reason up-res textures and copy/paste the rest of the models and animations...
That's the thing: they ONLY need to remake the region. All Pokemon are already there, including animations. Making some higher resolution textures is NOT a lot of work. It's what ALL developers do. That's called game development. It's normal.
I'm detecting sarcasm))
Contrary to what some might think, they can reuse all the Pokemon and the animations and everything from XY for Sinnoh remakes just the same. In fact, they did exactly that with Sword and Shield, e.g. reused the animations and models.
They were making portable Pokemon games before, they are pretty much doing the same thing now. They had time to make remakes before, so I think it's not beyond the realmp of possibility for them to keep making remakes. And I remember there was that one video with Tsunekazu Ishihara from a couple...
They're still making very much portable titles. Aside from the Wild Area, Sword and Shield barely look that much different than the 3DS Pokemon games.
GF's staff is still the same, they still make games with the "portable, not truly home console" mindset. It's apparent, they're still dead set on...
Speaking of the Lake Trio...I kinda collect Pokemon full art cards (EX, GX andd Trainers) and it's mind boggling that none of the three got a full art card yet! I really like them, hope they'll get their time to shine come Gen IV remakes...
Sorry for the offtop. :D
It's really a shame that Mega Evolutions died for...this. Gigantamaxing is pretty much a poor man's mega evolution, except the new forms look nowhere near as cool as most of the megas do and this whole thing just screams one-time gimmick. I'd rather they made more megas than what they did here...
You're confusing resolution with models and lighting, which are pretty much the same between platforms.
You posted two screenshots of two different locations for what purpose exactly? When people say GF reuse stuff and don't make enough new, they're referring to Pokemon models and animations...
Yes and what's even worse is no Mega Evolution. I mean, many treat them like new Pokemon. They're at the very least new forms and they've been effectively erased from the games, because unlike forms like Giratina's Origin Form, Megas can't be stored in, well, Mega state, meaning there's no way...
If I were in charge of making Pokemon games, I would probably feel ashamed like hell that almost, if not, all other Nintendo first party AND second party games look and run much better on Switch. SwSh is not even comparable to most of those games in terms of visuals, performance and overall...
Like I said before, I am seriously considering buying these games used. The only thing that could make me get them at launch is some new really awesome feature, like Mega Evolution or Ultra Beasts or Soaring from ORAS. How sad, all of those things got removed. This buggles my mind, GF keep...
