Fun fact I discovered recently: If you use Knock Off on a Pokémon holding a Focus Sash, and you inflict enough damage to OHKO the target, then the Focus Sash will trigger, preventing the target from fainting, before it gets removed.

Arrived at Levincia today and did some exploring. (I'll challenge the gym once I've done some more training.) I managed to find a shiny Grimer by the Levinica lighthouse (my fifth shiny in Scarlet); I also got a mass outbreak of Rotom, which is good, as those seem to be very rare.

I managed to get one - there are some fixed spawn Toedscool near the tower in East Province Area one, which don't seem to require anything unusual.

I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but is there an effective way to get Toedscool to come out and battle you? I've seen them pop up on the map preview, but have never actually seen one. Are they just very rare, or do you have to do something like headbutt trees?

So I started Scarlet last week, and I am very much enjoying this so far. I've just beaten Cortondo gym, and am now continuing my training before going for the Titan Klawf. Thoughts so far: the region is lovely - a nice variety of landscapes, even in the early parts, and is great fun to explore...

It should do. Event dens can be anywhere in the Wild Area, and the 5star ones often have Dynamax Level 10. I can't remember if there's a specific thing about event den Pokémon having good IVs; you may have just been lucky. But with everything else, the IVs shouldn't cast doubts on legitimacy.
