Doesn't matter. The Dark type has nothing to do with lack of light. It's about underhanded tactics, aggressiveness, etc. It's why moves like Bite and Sucker Punch are Dark type.

The Kecleon in Explorers of Time, Darkness, and Sky are so much stronger than those in Red and Blue Rescue Team. My starter and partner can take on all of the Kecleon, but in Explorers, all of their stats are maxed out. I can usually only knock out one or two before they overwhelm us. Dx

I'll be honest, I don't think there's any need for much strategy in this case. Just spam Dig, and your partner's Screech + Force Palm, and you'll down him. Just use your X-Eye Seed as insurance.
