The cast for the dub has been fine except for Lillie and Rotom-Dex in some cases. The cast shift happened in AG, way before the dub started going downhill in XY. I honestly think that Dawn’s dub voice was just as good as her Japanese voice.
I looked it up, and Professor Sakuragi’s dub name, Cerise, isn’t associated with a flower/tree. Instead it’s a “bright or deep red color” that’s associated with cherries. Basically Sakuragi’s dub name is Professor Cherry.
Go’s dub voice is pretty interesting. I wasn’t expecting that to be his...
So, what this preview means is that the anime staff knows what they’re doing. They didn’t include a ton of callbacks and stuff up until now because the first 20 episodes established the stuff needed for a show to work. Things like the main characters’ goals, the setting and premise, and the...
I really didn't think I would have to say this, especially since most of the people here are pretty smart, but apparently I was wrong in that assumption. So, just to make things clear, I'd like to make sure that everyone in these forums understands that Gou IS NOT a psychopath. And at this point...
There’s a couple of things I’d like to point out about this episode;
While Lugia destroyed Ash and Pikachu almost immediately, they were also the only ones that did any significant damage to Lugia, so take that for what you will.
Ash here looks like he’s SM Ash’s personality but toned down...
Really good episode overall. The only really rushed part was the whole Shaymin thing and the fact that Ash apparently went through an Ultra Wormhole offscreen. Some stray thoughts;
It looks like Mallow is the only ones from the group that is staying in Alola.
When everyone was saying goodbye...
It just felt like wasted potential. The Matori Matrix could’ve gone through the portal, and Ash’s Poipole would’ve defended his home from them and evolved there. It would’ve made both his release and his return more believable. Basically it wasn’t entertaining, and I look for entertainment in a...
This series has been what I’d like to call a good meme. Some episodes have been some of the best in the show, while others have been some of the worst (coughcough a lot of the Alola League, episode 95, episode 24, episodes 89 and 90, and episode 102 coughcough).
Honestly, the first two seasons...
This is just like Ash’s Goodra, where he barely battles but still evolves twice and becomes extremely strong without much work by Ash. The only issue here is that Poipole MIGHT evolve offscreen, while Goodra didn’t. We’ll all just have to watch the episode to see how it plays out.
So after watching this episode during the XY marathon, I’ve realized something; didn’t Ash technically cheat during this fight? The reason I say that is because this fight was stated to be a double battle, and Ash used Talonflame and Frogadier as his two Pokemon. However, Ash used Pikachu as a...
Everything before Rowlet falling asleep was pretty good, and if you look at Hau crying after his loss without looking at what led to that loss, that was also really good. HOWEVER, everything that occurred between Rowlet falling asleep and Hau crying could’ve been done 10 times better. Rowlet...
They’re actually doing this in a bracket format where the winner of the 1st match faces the winner of the 3rd match, the 2nd vs the 4th, 5th vs 7th and 6th vs 8th. So, in a hypothetical situation, Jessie would’ve faced Lillie, or Mina would’ve faced Acerola. I’m honestly surprised more people...
Some comments I have about this episode:
RIP Grandpa Oh (19xx-2019). FeelsBadMan
I feel like Hala’s Hariyama had a better moveset as a Makuhita, with knowing both Heavy Slam and Close Combat.
I like how the anime introduced its own Totem Pokemon that wasn’t just a Gen 7/Gen 1 Alola form...
Here’s what should’ve happened before the league in order to give it a better setup:
Episodes 57 and 83 should’ve been replaced with two episodes where Sophocles and Mallow get their Z-Crystals, and then they should’ve gotten their Z-Rings in episodes 119 and 121 respectively.
Episode 113...
The animation is amazing, characters like Kiawe and Kukui are really fun to watch, Team Rocket is great in this series, all of the Pokemon have really fun personalities, some of the battles in this series are really good, and you have great episodes like Litten’s capture, the Guzzlord mini-arc...
So, this episode is probably one of my least favorite in the series, and it’s not due to the story or anything like that; Nah, it’s due to the animation. The thing about SM episodes is that even if the story can be meh in some episodes, like in episode 24, the fluid animation is enough to make...
Ash is not pulling a Cameron. Pulling a Cameron is knowing that there are going to be 6v6 battles, and then entering the round without a 6th Pokemon. Ash doesn’t know if there are going to be any 6v6 battles in this league, and if there are, he’ll get a Pokemon from Oak’s lab to battle with him...
All of the regional mythicals/legendaries should appear in the show, as I think it’s really cool that all of them are making appearances instead of some of them being pushed aside and only appearing in movies (I’m looking at you, Manaphy, Kyurem, and Yveltal) As for legendaries from other gens...
Olivia goes back to Kanto with Ash in order to be with Brock, and Kiawe then becomes the Island Kahuna of Akala Island. It would end Kiawe’s arc of trying to become stronger and to be as amazing as his grandfather, AND it would fulfill Olivia’s dream to find true love. Also, before some of you...
