Encountered a Shiny Onix, looking for a female Mawile in Glittering Cave... Eh. It's cool, certainly, but I also caught a shiny Steelix in Platinum a year or two back (also female, also crappy nature, also crappy IVs and also crappy ability) so I'm not terribly amused. >_>
Hmm? Did Knock Off get buffed?
Also, is there a list anywhere showing what old Pokemon got new moves? Specifically wondering about Mawile/Granbull getting Play Rough and Exploud getting Boomburst.
Dang, Mega Scizor looks great. Different, but not too souped up with spikes and other ludicrous add-ons (looking at you, Garchomp). That's definitely one I'd like to make use of.
Not certain on my entire team currently;
Definites:
Chesnaught
Aegislash
Heliolisk
Possible:
Hawlucha
Blastoise
Clawitzer
Malamar
Barbaracle
Dragalge
Tyrantrum
Mawile
Goodra
Xerneas
Weavile
Cloyster
Garbodor
Very tough to pare it down to only six with so many available...
Well, if Poke Radar makes a return, then wouldn't it be safe to assume that chaining can be utilized the same way as in Sinnoh, to get a higher chance of Shiny REs?
Dang. Was not expecting that, but it's awesome. Gamefreak giving a Pokemon a sensible learnset for its ability, finally. At this rate, I'll probably be using Clawitzer over Blastoise on my in-game team.
Apparently Aegislash's ability means that it changes form with each move it uses - if you use a status move (Protect, King's Shield, Swords Dance[?] and the like), it'll turn into its Shield Form. And if you use an attacking move (Shadow Sneak, Sacred Sword) it'll convert to its Blade Form. So...
Mega Alakazam is hilariously endearing. Just like Ampharos. Definitely one I would use sometime.
Wondering if it'll just get a speed and offenses boost, or if its defenses might get patched up...?
I believe it's during battle; as in, during the level-up sequence (exp. bar hitting the next level, showing increased stats, all that).
Could be wrong, but I believe that's how it works.
Aaaaahhh, Banette gets a Mega Evolution! With Prankster to boot. Damn, I've been waiting for something like that for ages... Hopefully now I'll be able to use it more. And I love the design - probably my favorite ME thus far. Pinsir and Heracross are whatever, but Medicham's interesting. Excited...
So Stance Change means Aegislash changes form with every move? That's absolutely terrific. You get base 150 offenses when you attack and base 150 defenses when you defend. And even if it's slow as all hell you still have King's Shield/Protect and Shadow Sneak for priority.
Wow.
On the subject of only ~70 new Pokemon - frankly, I'm fine with it, in principle. There are so many Pokemon anyway (both in general and in the Regional Kalos Pokedexes) that I'm not fretting over a <100 new 'mon count. The issue for me is that I just don't enjoy a lot of the designs as much as I...
I'm curious as to the reasoning behind removing seasons. Seems like Gamefreak has a tendency to remove interesting features that they put in for only a game or two (Join Avenue? Day/Night? Gender differences?).
