Compared to the Gen 6 era and LGPE, the chibi style for the Sinnoh remakes is definitely a bit jarring. Trying to copy the Gen 4 spirite style for the humans made them look more like toys. Also we just transited to realistic models from Gen 7 onwards (bar LGPE but they were still human-like).
Sticking with the original DP Dex till we get confirmation on potential updates? So far I think I will go with:
- Infernape (Sun Wukong/Lora)
- Staraptor
- Luxray (Simba/Pandoria)
- Garchomp/Hippowdon
- Floatzel (eventually swapping out with Palkia)
- HM slave if HMs return, Clefable otherwise
A team? Currently considering Pearl and my members would be (for now)
- Infernape
- Staraptor
- Floatzel/Palkia
- Luxray
- Mamoswine
- HM Slave Bibarel (if HMs are staying), Roserade otherwise
It is definitely subject to change depending on the Pokedex and availability
Really like the Xenoblade-like to the game and yes the Xeno subreddit already made a joke about everyone’s favourite big red gorilla. Speaking of potentially over-levelled Pokemon I am wondering how they would handle that (presumingly you probably cannot toss a Poke Ball at them from the...
Not really a fan of the art style of the over world, the characters look super squished compared to the ones from LGPE. If they were going the chibi appearance ironically LGPE handled it better since the characters still had human-like proportions. Now here’s hoping they find a way to deal with...
Pokemon seems like a likely though a Sword/Shield Pokemon is a bit in a shaky spot due to having a Spirit Board event (Three Houses never got one before Byleth's release). Admittingly it only really affects the box legends though all our Spirit promotions (Min Min and Pyra/Mythra) were so far...
Though yet another remake of Red and Blue seems.....unnecessary. The Switch already has a Kanto remake (albeit of Yelow) in LGPE and the only difference would using Gen 8 mechanics, traditional catching means and the starters.
If a character is going to revealed during the E3 period I presume it may be a fairly big third party character (Crash seems to be the popular pick for many). Beyond that I have no idea for the last character.
Pretty much they jumped too deep down the rabbit hole that Ash has become iconic to the anime series. On the other hand the BW, XY and SM stretch has very drastic shifts between Ash's personality. BW was particularly notable making it seem Ash was struck with the nerf bat after the end of DP.
Its Pokedex entries is a reference to the way its real-life inspiration (the peregrine falcon) hunts. Though if martial arts style kicking moves are out of the question it is strange Talonflame did not get a signature move based off the hunting technique of the peregrine falcon.
Going with BW2, it does a better job of showcasing the time jump between it and BW and you get to see the growth of most of the notable NPCs. While HGSS restored many of the missing areas from GSC including Kanto alongside Johto sort of affects the quaility of both. I do get there is a bit of...
