Encountered and caught a shiny Dhelmise in a random raid. The only unfortunate thing was that I wasn’t comfortable using the Dream Ball we just got. But the Repeat Ball works thematically just as well :)
It’s kinda weird but Houndour and Houndoom were never an issue for me. Maybe because I thought more of them in the context of Cerberus and Hades than of the biblical concept of hell? I had to look up hellhounds on Wikipedia (totally trustworthy right?) because I don’t recall them being mentioned...
A lot of my picks are personal and have to do with wrestling with both my Christian faith and enjoyment of this franchise and where the two intersect. There's a fair chance I'm taking this way too seriously, but everyone's going to bring their baggage into analysis and that's what makes it...
From an aesthetic standpoint, the Game Boy era wins and it's not even close. I almost guarantee there's some nostalgia creeping in here, but I have always preferred my games to have simpler graphics and stylization so the basic overworld and sprites appeal to me much more. I would lump Gen 3 in...
I liked Wandavision better when it was called Pokemon 3: The Movie.
Seriously though, I haven't gotten to watch the whole series yet, and I'm not sure that I ever will. There's just so much to unpack and the only other piece of MCU media I've seen so far is Iron Man 2. But reading about its...
In-universe, we have Clefairy and Snubbull in Gens 1 and 2 respectively. I want to say there were multiple comments in the original games about Clefairy being coveted for its cuteness and rarity; I do remember that one girl just asking you for one near Bill's house. Snubbull's got its Pokedex...
I do think it's funny how they made a big deal of TMs no longer breaking in Gen 5, only to break the same mechanic back in Gen 8. TRs are breakable TMs done right though because of their abundance. I'm definitely happier with them than I ever was with the old TM system.
Short answer: HMs being gone are for the best. The majority of the moves I don't miss.
BUT, OP has a really good point about the loss of immersion and personality that comes with rental Ride Pokemon and especially the Rotom Bike. There was definitely something to be said about adventuring with...
Oooh, remember when the Sword and Shield rumor mill hyped up "Armor Evolution"? Maybe the leak was for this game after all! ;)
Seriously though, this is a cool idea and I'm rather surprised they haven't done it sooner.
Red's my favorite because I like how it goes with the purple accents. But since as @Leonhart mentioned that does seem to be the "default" and I like going off-script every now and then, I'll also say I really like the blue. I agree with @Reinhardt that it is a nice shade :)
Never heard of Kennywood so had to look it up...you mean it isn't Dollywood but with Kenny Rogers?
Did a lot of Hersheypark and King's Dominion growing up but amusement parks aren't really my style anymore. Was never a roller coaster guy and not sure if they have arcades anymore. Disney World's...
I'll counterpoint by throwing another unpopular opinion out there: the battle system doesn't need to change that much the way Final Fantasy's did. Don't get me wrong, there were plenty of smaller tweaks that needed to be made because as you said those older games were broken. Adding types for...
I don't remember if this came to fruition or not because I was a stupid child who didn't know game mechanics back then, but I knew that if I had to pick one in Gen 1 I'd be going with Vaporeon. Of the three, it was the one that most exemplified "elegance" to me. I know Espeon or Umbreon wasn't a...
Nice to know I'm not the only old person on here. At first I was concerned about being on a Pokemon forum at 30 possibly chatting with a bunch of kids, propriety and all that. But oldheads unite! :)
So apparently Pokemon came to the states in 97, but I distinctly remember getting into the first...
I'm not really sure how to begin this post other than to say...
1) Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl and Legends: Arceus were announced at the same time
2) Both games will take place in the Sinnoh region, at different times.
Even though they're distinctly separate entities, I can't imagine there...
A conservative estimate of the Pokémon i think will be available, whether in the Dex or not - I hope there’s more...
All 493 from Gens 1-4 - as someone here said (can’t remember who), anything else is a downgrade. Regional forms are included.
Sylveon, the two new Regis, and the regional...
