Wow... I started reading this as a return review, and I'm surprised. It's REALLY good. Your description is much better than what you'd expect to find. It really pulled me in. When Ryer was having his flashbacks, I was like "GAWSH. What happened to him? Who'd he kill?" It made me want to read more.

It was SO INTENSE when Avian was trying to save Ryder. Sometimes, I get bored with scenes like this, but it was... REALLY INTENSE. O_O I was like, on the edge of my seat. Crazy.


And unlike most people, you handle flashbacks really well. They pop up in just the right places, and with the right excuses, like dreams. Artful and stuff.
