The Legend

~Thousands of Years Ago~
*Not required to completely understand this Legend

Man has forever sought to seek more power. Since the beginning of mankind, there are those who follow, and those who lead. There was once a King named Arzun. His majesty ruled with an iron fist, separating society into an upper, middle and lower class. Increasing taxes, slavery of the poor, were just some of the methods he used to increase his power in the world. Limiting the teaching of magic to only those who could afford it, Arzun was able to create the country to his liking.

“Your highness, does nothing satisfy you? Even Royals in other countries envy you.” A man asked. Arzun did not understand the meaning of the question. If there was still more power to be sought, then why would he not try to obtain it?

“Tell me…if we were at war, then would other countries hesitate to attack?” The King asked the man. The man didn’t reply. “Of course not. They don’t fear us. At least not yet.” The King said. With that in mind, the King had an idea. What he needed was something to show that they were not to be messed with. Stricter laws would indeed enforce his power over the people, but that didn’t help him with facing other countries.

“What do we need to be feared?” The man asked curiously. The King looked at the man, and gave a malicious smile. The King’s intentions were to keep a weapon, capable of destroying entire armies.

“We need a Dragon.” Yes, the King’s idea was to capture the very essence of fear itself within nature. The man was shocked. Dragons were the rarest of beasts. Many people spend their entire lives without ever finding the elusive creature, let alone capture it. “We leave tonight.” With that said, the King and his finest men packed their bags and headed to the wilderness.

~

After a month of travelling, the grueling sun was beating down on the men and their bodies were taking a toll. Out of the fifty, twenty men were gone. Some done in by wild animals, others suffering from natural causes. “Your highness…we need to go back. The more we stay out, the more men we will lose.” The man said, throat dry. The King hesitated, looking in front of them.

“This is it. It has to be. The Dragon’s Nest”. The men stared into a pit filled with webs and the stench of rotting flesh. Carcasses were scattered about, torn limb by limb. Without word, the men climbed down the pit, eventually retreating from the surface of the upper world down to the foreign cave. “We’re almost there.” The men reached the bottom of the pit, with a loud growl rushing through the caverns bringing along a lingering odor.

“I think…that’s the-“ The man was cut off, as a loud screech hissed through the cave, enough to make a man’s ear bleed. They were soon faced with a pair of red eyes, glowing within the darkness of the caverns.

~

After the conquering of Dragons, it brought forth the age of Valkyries. Many dragons were ruled and used as weapons during wars, and people who gained control over these creatures attained the power of ‘Valkyries’. Enhanced strength, limited flight, were able to create soldiers capable of taking out multiple enemies at once. However, as the years progressed, there disputes among the regular humans and Valkyries, in which the latter should be superior to the former. This eventually led to a war lasting for years, and ultimately resulting in the wipeout of the dragons and Valkyries, rendering them non-existent. This legend has become a thing of the past now, being merely stories for the people.

Current Events

Location: Continent of Aras | Country: Salos

The World has entered the Third Era. Currently in the midst of a Civil War between the regions of Kale and Grandora, Salos is not exactly the most stable country. Diaz, the King of Grandora has begun his reign of terror on the country. In an effort to attain more power, he has taken control of Kale’s regions to create his own empire, creating his new title of Emperor Diaz. His actions have caused many rebellion groups to arise within the nation, trying to put an end to his takeovers. The aftermath of many battles have left places desolated, slums even. Although there are still many ‘neutral zones’, or rather places that have not been affected by the war, travellers should be weary of venturing into dangerous territory.

Along with the creation of rebellion groups, several industries have been booming. The mining industry has brought in money for thousands of businessman, with people looking for jobs after losing their previous ones. Farms have been doing slightly more poor in the country ever since the start of the war, with less crops being available with each passing year the war goes on. However, a lot of criminal and gang activity has been reported around the country, filled with people who instead of working, steal, kill and do other criminal activities for money. Diaz however, is one step ahead of them.

One of Diaz’s most famous plans, is implementing the Galvez Prison facility for both criminals, rebellion groups, and those who oppose Diaz’s ideals. The prison is a hell-on earth located in the mountains North-West of Kale. Although nobody is sure what goes on in there, it’s evident the prisoners are somehow dealt with, seeing as how nobody has ever come out. Under constant watch, nobody can get in either without permission or approval of access. Now only time can tell how this war will be played out, and how it ends.

The RP

Okay guys, this is the Discussion thread. Let's try not to spam it up, and have at it! Feel free to talk with other players about RP stuff, or questions in general.

The RP Itself:
This RP is going to be a nice, long RP, with lots of interactions. In fact, I will have to split it up into multiple parts, because the storyline is going to change suddenly, and the because there will be so much going on. Part one is going to be called: Reign of Diaz. Don’t worry, the first part itself will be as long as a regular RP (hopefully it will last that long, trust me it gets tense near the end). This is not sandbox, although there will be many times where you will be able to wander around a town and whatnot, hang out with other characters, eat, etc. For the majority of the RP, we will be travelling as a group. Also, a little side note. If you want to create a side arc let me know and we'll sort something out.

The Setting & Your Character:
First off, this is an original RP, which means it’s not an existing franchise. The time period is not exact (there will be times when it will be slightly more ooutdated/rustic, and times when it will be slightly more modern.), but I guess the closest I can say would be Skyrim-esque, maybe even SAO-esque as well(or some other fantasy-style RPG/JRPG if you can think of one), but slightly more ‘updated’. For example, guns are allowed as weapons in this RP, as long as they make sense, and it isn’t a machine gun or something. Swords and bows and whatnot are okay as well. World-wise, there’s no map yet of the country, mainly because I will be creating things along the way (although some places are already determined), plus I want other players to be able to make their own side-stories and cities/towns if they want to.

At the start of the RP, the characters will currently be en-route to Galvez Prison for whatever reason that may be. You don’t have to explain this in your character history, but you can if you wish. It will be there that we all meet and greet and find a way out of the prison. The story builds onwards from there, and falls a lot on the shoulders of the characters. Your character should be affected by the war somehow (doesn't have to that major). They shouldn't be too experienced with fighting or using magic, as there is plenty of time to do that throughout the RP.

Note: If you are wondering what the legend has to do with the RP, it is there because there will be several references to it throughout the RP, and plays a huge role later on. Your character doesn't have to be familiar with the legend at all.

Elements:
There are seven elements in total. Elements are essentially the type of an individual’s attacks and magic. Everyone has an element, although not all can use magic(your characters will be able to use magic). Magic of someone’s own element will be stronger. However, some of your other magic of a different element may be weaker and harder to learn. Essentially magic of your element is easier to learn, and magic of resisting element is harder. Here are the elements:

Fire: Is good against Lightning/ Weak against Water
Water: Is good against Fire/Weak against Lightning
Wind: Is good against Earth/ Weak against Earth
Earth: Is good against Wind/Weak against Wind
Lightning: Is good against Water/Weak against Fire
Light: is good against Dark/Weak against Dark
Dark: Is good against Light/Weak against Light

Magic:
What’s an RPG without magic? Magic has many uses rather than just attacking. The amount of magic spells created is nearly limitless. Magic can be learned by either practicing, learned from others, or created by one’s self through extensive research and trial and error. They can range from simple attacks, healing spells, shields, etc. Mana is the energy needed to perform Magic. The amount of Mana depends on the person. Some people naturally have larger reserves of Mana, and others do not. The main way of increasing Mana is through training, frequency of usage, and the most common way is just by waiting, as time naturally lets your body increase reserves of mana. There are also items that may increase mana reserves or regeneration.

Note: Any sort of magic regarding the usage of bringing back the dead is off limits. Healing magic is mainly going to be within the elements of Water or Light, but if you can provide a good reason for it being of a different element go ahead.

NPCs
*Constantly being updated in regards to plotline

Diaz: The main Antagonist for the first part of the RP. Currently titled 'Emperor', he is in total control of Western Salos. In his palace in Grandora, he can control the war from his throne, preferring not to get his hands dirty himself. May be seen as a coward to most people. He is carrying through his father's legacy, who died a few years ago and took his place.

Kazu: Controls most of Eastern Salos, and currently resides in the City of Kale. Titled 'King', Kazu doesn't interfere much with Diaz. For reasons unknown, he does not try to stop Diaz, but instead minds his own business with the Eastern side of the country. Age 24, and like Diaz he also took his father's throne after he died a year before Diaz's father. Blonde hair, good looking, blue eyes, this King as it all, plus his way with the ladies.

Luna: At twenty-one years old, she's the younger sister of Kazu. Also good looking with Blonde hair, the two share similar physical traits. She doesn't talk much with her brother, nor does she care much for political affairs. However, she does have a heart of gold, and is caring for others and willing to help anyone in need.

Rules:
1) All forum rules apply
2) No bunnying/God-modding
3) Please post as frequently as you can. This is one of those RPs that is fun if you keep up.
4) If you plan being away for a while, please let me know ahead of time. I cannot stress this enough.
5) Swearing is allowed since this is rated 'M'. Please don't abuse this.
6) Romance/Sexual stuff I have no problems with, as long as you are not too explicit. Make sure you're not writing a new fifty shades of grey.
7) Seeing as how this is rated 'M', expect blood. It probably won't be to the extent of horror movies or anything, but expect violence.

Sign-Up Sheet:
*If you were part of the RP last time, then you are allowed to re-use your character! Or you can make an entirely new one

Name: (Appropriate name please)

Age: (18+)

Gender:

Element: (Pick one of the elements above as your character's natural affinity).

Appearance: (A good description or pic of the character. Make sure they're human. No orcs or elves of the sorts or making up your own race. Not trying to be racist, but it's just a rule I have. Also, make sure it's your own character, and not a pre-existing character such as from a TV show, anime, etc.)

Personality: (Their personality? How do they act? Do they get along well with others? Try to be descriptive please.)

Hometown: (Where are they from? Make up a place, and give a location. Make sure it is not in another country, unless they moved here.)

History: (A history of your character. What do they do, did the war affect them in any way, where are they from. Feel free to make up towns/cities for them. We may even be able to visit them during the RP. Also keep in mind, your character is currently on their way to the Prison as they have been captured.)

Weapon: (What weapon do they have? Pick something really simple for now. Your character should not have some gigantic sword. They will be able to get better weapons later on.)

Magic: (Their current list of magic + element of each spell. Only a maximum of three, and please remember that your characters should inexperienced with using magic so don't overdo it. There will be plenty of time for improvement throughout the RP. Also, remember to include magic of your own element. It is not possible for someone to know magic of all elements.)

Other: (Anything else we should know about?)

My Sign-Up:

Name: Artus Callum

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Appearance:

Artus is a tall fellow, standing approximately 6’2”, almost 6'3", and weighing in at a little over 200lbs (around 210). He is pretty solid in terms of build, from working a labor job for quite a while with his father giving him a solid amount of muscle. By no means 'beefy', but is much far for being a twig. Slightly more bulky than lean. He has light brown skin complexion, with medium-short black hair. His skin is free from any imperfections such as acne or scars, as he takes fairly good care of it. Most of the time his beard is shaven, but after a week of no shaving, he tends to get a bit of stubble, and even longer will result in a scruffy or rugged look. His eyes are dark brown, almost black if not seen from up close. He doesn't wear any armor, as he likes to move freely without the extra weight. Instead, he just wears a fitted light, pale blue short-sleeved tunic. For pants, he wears light brown pants, made out of a tough denim-like material. For shoes, he wears simple black boots that he picked up at a local market for a cheap price. Finishing off his look is a belt that slings around the front of his body to carry his sword around.

Personality: Artus the type of guy you would want having your back. He’s a loyal friend, and never turns his back away from his peers. Although this could be argued against when he was younger, now that he's older he is more capable of following a leader-type role rather than a bully. He can get timid at times, however this usually occurs when he is embarrassed about something such personal issues, relationship, etc. But he doesn't get embarrassed too easily, as he is fairly open about things. In fact, he rarely gets offended by much, and will pretty much answer any question thrown at him, with the exception of the occasional embarrassing question where he will make up an answer. He is also on the more competitive side. He loves friendly competition, and occasionally gambles for money, items, and other minor things. However, his gambling sometimes goes too far. Although he is no an addict, he does have a tendency to gamble whenever he has the chance. He also shows a violent side of himself when he gets mad. Not temper problems exactly, but when it comes to direct fist fighting, he is known to throw some hard punches, and go all out. Almost all the time he would rather fight with his fists than his sword, as he likes the feel of a punch landing a direct hit. He can also be a little bit of a flirt at times, although this has yet to achieve anything for him.

History: His hometown was invaded by Diaz’s forces, and left to rubble, after one of Diaz’s commanders, known as Commander Ghan, decided to burn down the place, rather than follow Diaz’s orders and just do recon. This completely blindsided the town, leaving many people homeless, and left some killed. Sadly, Artus' family didn't make it through the attack, but he however was able to escape for a while. He has relatives that live in a another city, which is doing fine as of now. Their city has remained neutral, and seems like it will stay out of the way of conflict. Due to personal issues with his other family, Artus' original intent was to go live with them. His relatives are more on the wealthier side, but his uncle and cousin are greedy gluttons which is one of the reasons Artus doesn't want to see them. After not seeing them for nearly 7 years, he decided to find a place on his own, to avoid any more conflicts with his uncle and cousin (although the smart thing to do would be to live his relatives). Being a commoner, finding a job was hard. His parents weren't rich, nor did they have any sort job that payed exceptionally well. Labor jobs were all taken, and he didn't have any education or knowledge on how to run a business, so opening up a booth at a marketplace was out of the question, so was running a shop. Least did he know that his search would be soon interrupted with a one-way trip to Galvez Prison.

Several years prior to the war, Artus was a bit of a trouble maker and misfit. He liked to pick on other children, mainly just because it amused him. Yes, that includes bullying, and to this day it's something Artus doesn't really regret, nor feel sorry. Mainly because this did not occur in his hometown, but rather in his cousin's city, where the two of them, along with his cousin's friends would walk around pulling pranks and picking on other people. The situation was a little bit more complex than that though, as the only reason he did it was because he was scared of his cousin, who would also occasionally bully Artus around. Now that he's older, Artus doesn't really mention anything about his childhood unless asked, and even then he fails to mention that little part about him making kids cry.

Hometown: Nalan – Located south of Grandora, and one of the first places to be invaded by Diaz and his forces. Although not occupied by them, currently it resides as a sort of refugee camp, with minimal shelter.

Weapon: A regular sword, made of steel.

Element: Lightning

Magic Spells:
ThunderBolt: Artus shoots a bolt of electricity at his opponent(s).
Barrier: This particular spell is Light Elemented. Artus creates shield formed out of Mana. The shield does not cover 360 degrees, but rather only one side at a time.
Electric Blade: Artus fills his sword with Lightning elemented magic energy, increasing damage potential.

Other: N/A

Name: Lyssa Buran

Age: 19 (turning 20 soon)

Gender: Female

Appearance: Standing at a slightly average height for a female, at around 5’7” – 5’8”, Lyssa has a relatively slim build. By no means sticklike, but she still has a womanly figure, with a smaller than average bust size. Her rather bright, red-colored hair goes down a little below shoulder length, and although most would say it’s dyed, it is in fact her natural hair color. She has dark brown eyes, and her skin color is a little more on the lighter side. She doesn’t really get tanned easily, unless out in the sun for a long time.

For clothing, Lyssa wears a sleeveless white colored tunic that is styled similar to a dress, that ends just below the waist. There is gold colored trim on the end of the tunic, along with more colored trim where the sleeves should be. Underneath the tunic, she wears a black long sleeved shirt. For pants, she wears black leggings, with white boots that end a little above the ankles.

Personality: Lyssa is generally described as being independent. Growing up on a farm, she was constantly working to help her family out. Whether it be feeding the farm animals or help around the house, she was always busy. This sort of molded her into the type of person to not rely on others. Although she is by no means cold towards, she will accept it when offered. She is usually kind in her words, although if you get on her bad side, she will have no problem taking speaking her mind. She doesn’t really care what others think of her, and if others are taking of advantage of her or trying to rile her up, she will stand her ground.

She doesn’t take too kindly to bullies. As bully victim herself when younger, she has a low tolerance towards them. She doesn’t often resort to physical violence, but will when necessary, as she is by no means a pacifist. Her parents always taught her to stand up for herself, so with their teachings, she is not scared to defend herself when needed.

History: As said before, Lyssa grew up on a farm, in a small town called Barnoble. She is an only child, so when she was young, making friends was really hard for her. She didn’t really know how to interact with other kids, which just made her socially awkward. She resorted to taking out her problems in helping around on the farm, feeding animals, house chores, etc. When she got a little older, her parents put her in a basic school for magic in the town, which wasn’t much, but it was all they could afford. However, it was here that she was picked on by other kids. Girls would often make fun of her because of her bright red-colored hair, which was a result from genetics from her mother’s side. She learned to cope with their immature behavior, although she would often cry herself to sleep multiple nights a week.

It wasn’t until she reached 18, that her life really took a turn. Sick of spending her days on the farm, Lyssa wanted to go to a University, to study Literature. This way she could get out of the farm, and get a hopefully get a decent job working with The Ministry. The problem was, that the university was located in a town a little ways away from Barnoble, and after moving there to study, although the war did not affect the city she was in nor Barnoble, she had heard news that the barn was no longer in business, as crops died out from a massive drought, along with the rising population of bandits from nearby settlement.

Hometown: Barnoble – a small town located somewhat south in Salos. Mostly a farm town, however as of right now, bandits mostly run the area, and keep it occupied.

Weapon: A simple Rapier

Element: Fire

Magic:
Fireball: Lyssa is able to launch a simple fireball at the foe. Often burns the target, however the flames are not lasting and almost dissipate instantly unless a supply of mana is given to keep flames burning. She can launch the fireballs either frpm her hand, or the tip of a weapon.

Gale Wind: Lyssa is able to manipulate the air around her to create a sort of invisible barrier around her. Minor attack will most likely swerve around her rather than hit her, but stronger attacks will be able to break through.

Name: Aaron Sorèl
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Element: Dark
Hometown: The Dark capital of R'lyeh. Invaded by Diaz in his task to obtain massive amounts of Dark Magic
Weapon: Two Assassin Daggers

Appearance: Aaron is a bit above average hight, and is a fairly muscular guy, despite having a slender physique, fit for fast movement. His skin is ghastly pale, and he’s not very capable of getting tans, no matter how much time he spends outside in the sun. His eyebrows are gently curved over his slightly glowing golden eyes, which emits a dreamy, friendly feel. His hair is medium short and strawberry blonde, usually styled. Other people would agree that Aaron is a very handsome young man. He despises dirt, and would stop up entirely whatever he’s doing if he gets dirty. Oddly, he has no problem with blood.

Though Aaron’s probably the most handsome person from his village, it’s all mostly an act. Aarons true appearance, which is a result of his continued use of black magic and his connection to the Dark arts, is that of a zombie-like rotting corpse. With dark hollow holes where his eyes would have been, with open wounds on his face and arms, most notably a huge scar going over his right eye. Hir hair is also messier, and turns dark grey over his usual strawberry blonde. This is the result of the black magic eating away his life force, but he can easily conceal it with a spell he learned from his father, with very little effort. This spell also enables him to change between his “forms”. His magic is stronger when “zombiefied”, but he’s a lot more physically fast and strong otherwise.

For clothing, Aaron usually prefers keeping his attire simple, yet stylish. He often wear a pair of black, tight pants. On his hips, he wears two black leather belts with bucklets bearing symbols of Black magic. He also wears a tight black shirt with frilled sleeves. Fastened to his belts, he has two holsters for his daggers, engraved with tribal markings. He also wear a pair of black boots which are lined with fur, and which also is decorated with tribal markings

Personality: Aaron is a jolly fellow who’s always dressed with a cheerful smile. He enjoys company, and likes being around other people. He’s a very trusting person who gets along with pretty much anyone. Despite being all jolly and cheerful, he does have a morbid, sadistic sense of humor. He’s the kind of person that would laugh whenever bad luck or woe inflicts others, and he would not hesitate taking innocent lives. He’s not selfish, but he doesn’t care listening to pleas and begging. If your life is in the way for him or his friends, he’d take it.
Despite being a quite powerful witch, Aaron hates animals. The reason for this is unknown, but it's definitly not normal. He does have the ability to understand them, but treats them like dirt.
Aaron is also very quick in his movements, and is very deadly when paired with his daggers.

History: Aaron was born into a coven of powerful dark witches in the capital of darkness, R’lyeh. His parents intentions were originally to raise him as a powerful necromancer who would lead their coven in the future. Aaron, however, showed signs that necromancy wouldn’t be an option. He could barely preform dark magic without experiencing the painful backfiring effects. He was also far too jolly and kind to become a good necromancer. He did, however, inherit his father’s morbid, sadistic way of thinking, and that alone was enough for his parents to be proud of him.

However, their coven was attacked by the forces of Emperor Diaz, despite them always being loyal to him. Both Aaron’s parents were killed in the attack, and he somehow managed to escape together with a small group of children, and an elderly woman. The small group of survivers found their way to a new town, where most of them settled down. Aaron soon decided to go his separate way, and left the other survivors to go find his own purpose, and to perhaps encounter the emperor on his way, in order to make him pay for ihs betrayal.

Magic:
Ghost Move – This spell enable invisibility. Oponents won’t see Aaron, but they can notice his prescence, and sometimes see a blurr in the air when he moves
Geist Blade – By channeling dark energy into his daggers, they become stronger, and the wounds they inflict won’t heal (NPC’s only)
Fireball – Aaron creates fireballs in his palms and throw them at foes.

RP Sample: We’ve RP’d before. You know basically how I do.

Other:
- Aaron have an obsession with mirrors
- He’s gay
- He hates animals

Name: Halt Drakeson

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Element: Wind

Appearance: Halt is of medium build, being 5’10 and weighing around 135 pounds full clothed in his leather armor. He has a toned muscle mass, but nowhere near buff or muscular. His black hair is always messy, and his emerald eyes are soft, yet stern. His skin is pale, and his right ear has a large claw scar running from it down his chin. He wears the scar as a testament to how he killed a bear that attacked him with his bare hands. His front teeth are actually sharper than normal, prepared to tear through meat and flesh. On his right hand is a silver ring, with a blue diamond set into the center of it, surrounded by a small circle of gold.

His typical garb for everyday life is his leather armor, of as good leather as his current village could create. Made from the tough hides of a powerful boar species in the north, it’s a light brown coloration; not very good for camouflage during the frigid winter, but the spring till the fall is prime hunting season. A ring of teeth, with two sharp tusks on two points, hang around his neck as a necklace. His shirt leather is covered by the fears of several different species, making his chest appear to be a mismatch of colors, ranging from spotted snow leopard, to large tan boars, and even a poncho of sorts that hangs around his shoulders and back made from a pure white species of ice ape in the tundra way past the forest that his village is near. He has a short kilt made from skins and leather again, with his boots being more plain traditional to those of a street dweller, being plain leather with extra padding for snow walking.

Personality: As much as his appearance says it, Halt is actually as smart as a high school graduate. He can usually be a calm sort of person, always having an odd smile of strength and calm, with a slight upturned lip and relaxed gait. He abosolutely loves children, and in his village, often plays with them after a hunt, telling stories and acting like a monkey for their enjoyment, and sometimes, just carries them around through the tree and around the area, to teach them and show off the land. He has a lot of pride for the land and his people, often saying that a creature is more afraid of their fangs they his people are of the creatures’ fangs. He can be a romantic too, and likes to read books he steals and write out messages to no one in particular, just messages out for the sheer fun of it all.
However, if one thing always had to drive his blood in a boil and make him more beast than man, it’s the thrill of a dangerous and exciting hunt. When he sees a creature or group of people to fight, he doesn’t care how badly he gets cut, as long as they get cut more and he has the damn time of his life. This can be seen as very scary to the village kids, and some even run away once he starts breathing heavy and a light flickers in his eyes. He’s more stubborn than a rock, and simply will not stop fighting until either he dies or his target dies. More often than not, it’s his target that ends up on the ground bloodied in a mixture of his blood and Halt’s. That’s also something Halt is a little funny on, he can’t kill females. Female creatures, children, women, he simply can’t attack them unless he has no other choice. He’s primal at his core though, and if a small animals runs by him, he has to try very hard before running after it.

Hometown: A small village towards the far northern wooded section of Aras, called Midgarde. It was attacked by Diaz because of the hunters there poaching other villages’ cattle and game, as well as the few freedom fighters there as well.

History: Halt Drakeson was born to the chieften of the small northern village known as Midgarde. It wa s more of a tribal village than the villages that doted around the capital, with low tech tents made from bones and skins, but it was home for these people. Drake, Halt’s father, was a wise and just leader for his village, often trading with the more ‘civilized street dwellers’ for smaller machines and guns, or foods and vegetables his people are unable to grow. Halt wasn’t against the street dwellers at first, he just hated the idea of the guns. They removed the fun of the hunt; one little pull of the finger ends it before it can get heated. He was four when his mother tried to teach him arts and math and speech, but it was harder to teach a wild boy than it looks. He was curious, reading at a young age, as was speech, but he simply refused to use math. At the age of nine, a mother bear attacked him for trying to kidnap her cub. He fought back like a monster, eventually using his teeth to tear out its throat. He was seen as a bit of a beast after that, shunned from others, but his father couldn’t be happier. Eventually, at the age of fourteen, he was given a chance to prove himself.

His village had a tradition where all boys, once of age, were to leave the village and head through the forest to the northern mountains. There, they would live and hunt on nothing but their wits and a single knife. Halt took to this like a fish in water, and was the first to head off into the world alone. He ran through the forest, and started his winter climb. During that time period, the snow and blizzards that plagued the cold mountainous area became even fiercer. He spent three days in waist high snow, hunting down the rare white snow apes, in a torrential blizzard. He nearly lost all sense of feeling in his body, before he met someone in the snow. It was a girl, about thirteen, in a gorgeous white gown with silver and light blue highlights. He managed to find her by seeing blood splash onto her from a wound. He picked her up, and got them to a cave, where he started a well needed fire. He held her for the body heat, and he couldn’t remember what happened afterward, once she awoke and their eyes met. The next morning, the blizzard stopped, but the head of the snow apes had emerged from its den to hunt. A small procession, no doubt trying to find the daughter of a noble, the same one Halt saved, where nearly unfortunently whipped out by the beast. Halt rushed at the monster, and armed with his knife, started to try and cut into the beast. On contact, the knife snapped at the hilt, through Halt’s impact distracted the massive tusked ape. The lone knife left standing threw his sword to the boy, which Halt caught, and with it, Halt fought as insanely as he possibly could, eventually driving the sword straight through the ape’s heart. With it dead, Halt shouted to the heavens his victory, a primal scream of energy, stress, and power. The knight had died from his wounds, but the katana he gave Halt was sharp and deadly enough to count as a knife. For the next week, Halt took care of the girl, named Diana, and the last night before she left, he learned that what happened that first night was something called ‘mating’. She left with a new procession, but in thanks, gave Halt a small ring, with a blue diamond. He stayed his mouth, carving his clothing from bulls, apes, and anything he could find and eat. A snow leopard tried to finish his kill once, but with the new weapon, he sliced it legs from body.

He returned a man, a real man, with flesh and bones a plenty. His father gave his son the truest honor of leaving and starting his own tribe with any girl of his choice, but Halt found himself unable to choose one. He remained in the village, using his father’s old books to learn magic and become a warrior, as well as the best damn hunter he could be. One book spoke of dragons, now extinct, but it gave Halt a thrill he couldn’t understand, a fury and blood lust his body couldn’t contain in mere words. He made an oath there and then, to one day hunt down a dragon. While magic and learning helped fual his lust for the ultimate hunt, his own hunting skills decreased a small amount. With the civil war raging nearby, Drake ordered his hunters and warrior to join the rebellion. Diaz found them though, and the village was sacked. Halt alone was taken in chains, being, as the street slime stated, ‘civilized enough’.

Weapon: Single worn katana, poor condition
Magic:
Cyclone Move (wind): Using a jet of air, Halt propels himself into the air and into a spin as a dodge method, and can be used three times in a row before he needs to rest and re-orientate.

Hell’s Mine (dark): Halt traces a design into the ground, which then glows briefly before priming. When something steps on the spot, it explodes with dark magic. Halt can prime three at once, with others being duds until one of the previous mines explodes.

Cyclone Saber (wind): Wind magic focuses along his sword, causing it to be able to have more force and be able to cut through metal, though other magic enhanced swords will be resistant.

Other: I’ll try to post as much as I can, but the most I can hope for is once to twice a week, sorry.
Halt has heightened resistance to the cold, from hunting trips in the winter in blizzards. Heat though, he’s not used to.

Name: Alina Nightshade

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Element: Dark

Appearance: Alina is slightly taller than the average female with a skinny, fragile-like frame. Mostly what makes her so tall are her long legs. Due to the fact she wears her black cloak all day long, she's slightly more pale than most. Like the common scribe or book writer. Under this cloak she wears a long sleeve grey turtleneck shirt and plain black pants. Around her neck is where a silver chain with a silver dragon around a onyx cross charm can be found. Although these are hardly visible due to the cloak her black boots however are not. The length of the boots is from her foot to a little bit before her knees. Once and awhile she will take off her hood which would reveal her straight long blond hair. Her hair, if measured would be from the top of her head to her mid-back. Her right eye is slightly covered by bangs, her left eye is visible. Both of her eyes happen to be the color gray.

Personality: Alina is the type of person who would rather watch from afar. If she can't , she stays behind others so she would not obstruct them. She's anti-social to a fault and will speak when she feels it is needed. An example would be if she was helping another find a location. Though most of her words come out softly and at times, barely audible. She is not used to speaking with others as she had stayed away from people when she was younger. Though, if one was to talk about dragons or animals in general, she would open up a little and chat. She is not easily angered and if she is, it's because someone has harmed an animal or a friend. Most likely though the case would be for the animal, and not the latter. Alina does scare easy however and will hide behind anything that keeps her away from those that have scared her. If she respects someone, she will follow them around like a ducklett unless told otherwise. She will do her best for her friends, or rather she thinks she will, if she had any. She is like that with her father anyway. Alina has a slight problem at times when she is asked about what to do. She's highly indecisive at these moments and instead tries to think of another way between the two choices, fearing that both can be wrong. She tends to be overlooked by others, and frankly doesn't mind that either.

Hometown: Alina used to live in a small village to the west called Silver Hollow until her father had to find a new job as the war caused this village to go dirt poor to the point that it was almost impossible to get food from other villages or towns in the area. Now this village is abandoned.

History: Alina was born in the village Silver Hollow, her mother died shortly after her birth since the stress was too much for her. So Alina's father had to raise her instead. Alina stayed away from the other children in the village, refusing to take part in their games and instead read books that her father collected. Some of her favorite books included the extinct dragons, and wolves. Although Alina's social life worried her father, he couldn't help but be proud of her desire to read and learn. Alina first use of magic was when she manipulated some shadows to form the shapes of animals she liked in books. From then on Alina's father went to teach her in magic, though since he was not the same element she was, he could only teach her the basics. Which Alina didn't mind. Around the age of 12 the war started to affect her home village in the form or poverty. Alina's father soon moved her and himself to a city farther away so he could get a better paying job and so the two wouldn't starve. This city was called Shade's Edge. Due to the fact that the city was under a cliff. Life here wasn't so much different as it was in the village. Avoid everyone, read, and buy food for dinner. Alina has no true idea as to why she is being sent to Galvez Prison, though many would say it was because she stole some spell books from a vendor. In her mind, she would say she was framed.

Weapon: A book called "Legends of Dragons". She would have took a dagger, but this was on her person at the time. It's one of her father's books.
Magic:
Shadow puppet(Dark)- She manipulates shadows of others to form shapes of animals or objects.
Shadow blaze (Dark)- Alina conjures up a black fire that can be thrown at others, however, it does not burn. Actually it doesn't hurt at all for now.
Fox fire (Fire)- She conjures a few weak floating fire balls. Mostly used for light, she can also command each to explode in front of a person. She can only conjure four flames at a time. Anymore causes her to lose control and have them explode on creation.

Other: Although dragons are extinct, if someone brings up the topic one can tell that she has a liking for them. Same goes for wolves.
Tends to pick up animals, mainly cats and dogs. And carry them around. She will let them go when they don't want to be around anymore.
She hates cold places.

Name: Henry Woodwick

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Element: Earth

Appearance: Henry is a tall young man, standing at exactly six feet. While he does not have bodybuilder proportions, he does have a toned athletic physique that he is quite proud of. Due to living pretty much all his life outdoors, his skin is lightly tanned. Not pale, but not bronzed either. His face is round, and rather boyish. Marked by large, expressive, brown eyes. These features give him a rather youthful appearance. He has short, messy, chestnut brown hair. Except for the top of his head, and eyebrows, the rest of his upper body is void of any hair.

Were it up to him, Henry wouldn't wear any clothes period. It's much more comfortable that way. Unfortunately, society frowns upon that kind of thing. He dresses simply. He can't exactly afford fancy clothes or armor, so he makes do with what he can get. He wears a short sleeved, form fitting green tunic on the top, a pair of matching green tights on the bottom, and a matching pair of booties on his feet. A brown leather belt is tied around his waist. He can usually be seen wearing a green hat with a red feather sticking out from it on top of his head.

(I know he looks like Peter Pan)

Personality: Henry is a bright, cheerful person, with an optimistic view on life. He can often be found with a smile on his face, even when things look bleak. As such, he often makes jokes, and does silly things when the situation is tense to lighten things up, but his attempts to make people laugh sometimes backfire. He can't stand seeing others be sad, and would do anything in his power to help them. He believes there is some good in everyone, and for that, he is very trusting of others. A genuine nice guy, he is always willing to help someone in need. Often putting the needs of others ahead of his own. Sometimes though, he can be too nice, to the point of gullibility, and people often take advantage of him for it. Henry is very outgoing and social. He likes meeting new people, and making new friends. He is not afraid to strike up a conversation with a random stranger. He's very accustomed to taking care of people. He is loyal, empathetic, and very protective of those he cares about, making him a good friend to have.

Henry is very energetic, some would say hyperactive even. So much so, that it is very difficult for him to sit still and concentrate on one thing for long periods of time. He can Because of this, he likes to actually do stuff, instead of sitting there reading about it. While he is able to think quick on his feet during intense situations. he often acts impulsively, and jumps to conclusions without thinking first. Henry can be childish and immature at times, and is the type of guy who wears his heart on his sleeve, His feelings are there for everyone to see, and he's pretty easy to read. For example he cries openly when something upsets him, and he is affectionate towards close friends. Due to his cheerful nature, it is usually difficult to anger him. Leafy is the type that wears a happy mask to hide his pain, not wanting to burden others with his problems. When something annoys him, he tends to keep it to himself, so when things become too much, he has really bad angry outbursts where he just lashes out at the most appropriate target. That said, Leafy isn't one to hold grudges for very long, and is very quick to forgive people.

Henry loves the fact that he can use magic, and practices his skills whenever possible. While he is not particularly violent, he is by no means a pacifist, and he is willing to use his magic to defend others if necessary.

Hometown: Flora Village. A small village near the forest, that is known for being filled with flowers no matter what season.

History: Henry grew up in a small village that was always filled with flowers. He led a fairly normal life, and was quite popular with the other kids in the village. At an early age, Henry displayed proficiency in Nature magic. His parents being wizards taught him their craft, and he regularly practiced whenever he could. He constantly flaunted his magical abilities, often to help others. While Henry led a happy life, he had a hard time sitting still. He craved an adventure, and desperately wanted to leave the village in search of one. He had been told stories of heroes that had gone on epic adventures, and he wanted to be just like them. Of course, his parents told him he was too young for that, and to wait until he was older.

Flora Village was one of the few places that managed to stay out of the war, and everyone hoped it remained that way. Most of the villagers did their best to pretend like nothing was wrong, and went about their lives. Nonetheless, Henry saw this as an opportunity to go on that adventure he had wanted to go on. There were people outside the village that were suffering, and he couldn't just sit there and do nothing. His parents forbade him to leave because it was much too dangerous with everything going on. One night, he decided to run away from the safety of his village. He left a note behind explaining what he was doing, then went off into the forest. Taking only his wand, and a backpack with some supplies. He would either return a hero, or not return at all. Of course, once the sun came up the next day, it became clear he hadn't thought this plan out all the way through. He had absolutely no idea what he was going to do next. He is currently wandering the forest, hoping for something exciting to happen.

Weapon: A magic wand. Basically, a thin wooden stick that is used to cast spells. It is not meant to do Melee damage. He can cast spells without the wand, but it will be much more tiring for him.

Magic:

Poison Ivy: (Earth) Summons thorny plant vines from the ground that can either whip the foe, or enare them. There is a small chance of being Poisoned if you are pricked by the thorns.

Nature's Remedy: (Earth) An Earth based healing move. Magical flowers grow all around and fill the air with pollen that creates a pleasant floral aroma that is said to rejuvenate one's spirit. Breathing in the pollen gradually heals wounds and sicknesses.

Sunblast: (Light) Fires a ball of light at the target that is powered by the sun.

Yes but I have two characters on each group now to lead/guide, rather than having them wander around on their own.

Sounds like a good idea. I'll post soon

Subscribed to the thread, so as to make sure I don't lose track of it.

I hope you don't mind that Kenna was slightly more adamant about exploring/escaping. I just feel like she's the kind of person who would probably go into some deep logical thinking regarding the situation that they're in rather than tackling it head on.

I think Kenna sound like an interesting character. note that my character will only be tired for maybe the NeXT post. lol. He seems like a huge dope atm.

Kenna is probably one of my favourite characters I've created for an RP. She has that awkward shyness but she's also not afraid to speak her mind when she needs to. I think Kenna will also be a little more drained in this next clump of posts, due to dehydration. I guess being a user of water magic she could maybe be effected by dehydration more than others would?

Well, I'm not familiar With Your RP, but that's good to hear. Yeah, that sounds about right. The prison have a negative effect on Aaron too.

I haven't RPed on here in a long time, mostly on other sites. My last RP on here was probably 'The Island RPG' if you wanted to look that up.

I imagine the prison will have a negative on all the prisoners. They all have their fair share of secrets and I imagine it will only be a matter of time before something dramatic happens...

Metallic Wonder
Probably, but that name does not ring any bells, no.

Yeah, creepy prison. My character likes it though. lol. He's all into darkness and sh*t, as it's his element. I'll have to plot some sort of dark Secret

Maybe the thread got archived? I know it's in my previous posts if you wanted to find it through there.

It is a rather creepy prison and I love how it is so mysterious. Like most people know about it, but they don't know what happens in there. I'm gonna try and work in what happened between Kenna and her sister sometime in the future. I don't think it will be for a while, though, as I can't see it holding any relevance to the situation that they are in currently. Maybe, I'll tie it in sometime after they escape the prison.

@Minteh: Feel free to make a side-story for Kenna, and if you do, make sure to give me details so we can shift the story to focus on her and her past. That really goes for everyone. If you have any sort of side arc you want to do, let me know, or post it here if you don't mind others seeing.

@Shadow What would you like to know? Other than the norm, I guess, it's made of stone and whatnot, and there's several 'chambers' in the prison. We just happen to be in the underground section of the prison. Once we get out of the underground, we won't be going to all the other sections (that's for later in the story). The prison is also run by one of Diaz's Commander.

Are there any dangers we're supposed to expect? Some battles we need to keep an eye for? Dangers to avoid?

Sorry for being quite err.. Quiet in the roleplay. This is actually my first time roleplaying in these forums so it's a bit intimidating with the way these posts work. Anyway once someone else posts in the group I was put in, I will post as well. Also are there any animals in the prison? Or is it just people and stone walls?

@Shadow: No real dangers as of yet, other than the pet they keep down there.

@Minteh: There are no guards down in the caverns, but in terms of weapons, they will mostly have regular swords, bow/arrows, axes and shields. Many of them know basic magic.

@Zena: No problem, if you have any questions let someone know. Also, there's just caves and other prisoners down in the caverns, along with Ghan's pet (but the pet shall not be seen).

Making a post soon, btw.
