Amethyst, if you have another 3DS with R/B/Y on it, trade the Weepinbell over and evolve it that way. I did that for my Nidorino.

Well, may as well post a mini update on my own team, while I'm here. Yes. I evolved my Nidorino into Nidoking. I also beat the Rocket Hideout and 7th gym. I am now currently in the "final phase" (so to speak) of the Rocket Tower Takeover. The levels of my team are in the low to mid 30's. Full update when I have the time to write it.

Beat the rival and 2nd gym leader a few days ago. Today I beat the evil 3rd gym leader with Nidorino kicking Miltank's butt. Payback!

I arrived in Ecruteak City to get ready for the 3rd battle with my rival and the 4th gym leader.

Ugh... I'm not sure if I wanna do that. I didn't wanna use either of my old 3DSes for 1 digital purchase. I'm fine with trading with cartridges, but not digitally.

I headed into the Burnt Tower where I defeated my rival and set loose the Legendary Dogs. Next up was Morty's Gym where Slowpoke took care of the trainers. For Morty Slowpoke took out his Gastly and first Haunter before Gengar knocked it out. I had Flaaffy paralyze Gengar and switched to Quilava to finish off Gengar and defeat the last Haunter. Now that I can Surf I decided to head back to Azalea Town to get the King's Rock from the Slowpoke Well only to realize upon arrival you need Strength. I headed back to Ecruteak and headed west to Olivine City where I got the HM for Strength and then returned to Azalea Town.

After trading with my other 3DS I evolved Slowpoke into Slowking! After trading I explored earlier parts of Johto before returning to Olivine, climbing to the top of the lighthouse where I met Jasmine and a sick Ampharos. I had to surf to Cianwood City where I let Sunflora and Flaaffy go wild against the Water type Pokemon. Flaaffy evolved during the trek. I arrived in Cianwood City and took on the gym. Quilava and Slowking defeated most of the trainers and Chuck ended up being pretty easy. Slowking defeated Primeape with Confusion before getting KO'd by Poliwrath because apparently Dynamic Punch never misses! Ampharos came in and won with Thunderpunch. Chuck's wife was nice enough to give me Fly but apparently the Natu I caught to be my Flyer cannot learn Fly so I had to Surf my way back to Olivine City to help the sick Pokemon. Jasmine was delighted by my arrival, so delighted that she had no problem with my Quilava sweeping her entire team. I returned to Ecruteak where I took a break.

I picked up the Fly HM outside the Cianwood Gym and taught it to a Hoothoot. Then, I flew back to Olivine and headed over to the lighthouse. I began climbing it and battled a bunch of trainers along the way. At the top, I talked to Jasmine, who asked me to get some medicine from Cianwood for the sick Ampharos. So, I quickly flew back to Cianwood, got the SecretPotion from the pharmacy, and then returned to the top of the lighthouse. With Ampharos healed, Jasmine returned to the Gym.

I didn't want to go to the Olivine Gym yet, though, so I left to do some other things. Over in the National Park, I participated in the Bug Catching Contest again. This time, I caught a Pinsir, which was good enough for second place of course freaking Cooltrainer Nick had to win with his own Pinsir. After that, I backtracked to the routes between Azalea and Violet to rematch a couple of trainers.

Finally, I returned to Routes 38 & 39 for some more training. I defeated wild Pokemon until my whole team was level 27. Also, I captured a Magnemite and a Farfetch'd.

I swear Cooltrainer Nick is programmed to win 99% of the time.

Full version of my update. After having more trouble with that one scrub with the level 36 Golbat than I really should have and finishing up with the Rockets, it was time to enter Ice Cave, which, funnily enough, wasn't as hard as I remembered it to be. After making it out, the preparations for the final gym of Johto began, including battling a few of the rematch trainers. Might have overstocked on items though.

Current team:

Ampharos Lv36

I've gone through the Johto Gym Leaders and now I'm off to the Pokemon League with my team. Took forever to level up that dragonite on my team, but I feel like it'll be worth it.

I spoke with Utsugi-hakase in Wakaba Town, then I went out again and saw a capture tutorial. I began catching wild Pokemon now that I had an inventory of Monster Balls, and I passed right through Yoshino City without pausing. As I made my way through Route 30's exhausting trail, I defeated opponents that had challenged me before I arrived at the entrance of Dark Cave. As there wasn't much to explore there yet, I stepped into Kikyou City without further delay. I made a stop at some buildings of interest including the Mart and the school, and then I decided to climb the Tower of Madatsubomi, which took me fifteen minutes.

My team is now all at level 40 and ready to take on the E4. I also farmed for a Metal Coat and evolved Onix by trading it with a 2nd 3DS and my Silver version (which I keep meaning to use for something else, but oh well...)

As a result, my Gold version now has a Cyndaquil, and my Silver version has no badges and a level 16 Farfetch'd

Team:
Nidoking Lv40
Gyarados Lv40
Noctowl Lv40
Feraligatr Lv40
Ampharos Lv40

I went to the Olivine Gym to fight Jasmine. My Quilava and Politoed won the battle for me:
-Quilava 2HKOed the first Magnemite with Ember. Magnemite used Supersonic, but fortunately Quilava didn't attack itself.
-Politoed defeated Steelix with a couple of Surfs. All Steelix did was set up Sunny Day, which didn't affect Politoed since it was going to get the KO on the next turn anyway.
-Sunny Day did help my Quilava, though. It allowed me to knock out the other Magnemite in one hit with Ember.

With that Gym battle won, I returned to Ecruteak and headed east to Mahogany Town. I talked to everyone in town and heard about the Lake of Rage, though I've decided to save the Red Gyarados and Team Rocket stuff for next time. Instead, I spent some time training my team around Johto. I got my Flaaffy up to level 30, allowing it to evolve into Ampharos! My other team members reached level 28.
While training, I caught a few more Pokemon for my Pokedex: Venonat, Girafarig, and Lapras.

Back in Goldenrod, I purchased a Fire Punch TM and taught it to Ampharos. I bought a ThunderPunch TM, too, which I plan to use on Quilava once it becomes a Typhlosion.
Once that was done, I returned to Mahogany Town.

Fully explored Route 43 and the Lake of Rage today. I battled all of the trainers and went through the tree maze to find some items, including a couple of TMs. I used Headbutt on quite a few trees, too. While on Route 43, I found an Aipom in a tree and caught it after several Great Balls.

Once I was finished looking around, I Surfed on the lake and found the Red Gyarados. I saved, then battled it. I caught it eventually, but it was quite annoying. I had to reset a few times due to it fainting - it died once because I got a critical hit at the wrong time, and then another time or two due to Thrash confusion. And on my successful attempt, I still had to waste half of my balls on it.

After catching the Gyarados, I obtained a Red Scale. I then Surfed back to the land, where I met Lance. Instead of following him back to Mahogany Town, though, I went back to Mr. Pokemon's house to exchange my scale for the Exp. Share.
I returned to Mahogany after that and will do the Team Rocket stuff next time.

I have now defeated the first 4 Kanto gym leaders. Erika made a fatal blunder by opening with Sunny Day against my Ampharos, who proceeded to sweep her entire team with Fire Punch. Yes, I'm fighting them in classic order. No-one in my current team can learn Giga Drain, but I instead taught my Steelix Dragonbreath. One thing I'm annoyed about is the lack of good poison type moves Nidoking can learn. Mine still has bloody Poison Sting on it. I'll need to figure something out soon...

Other duties included repairing the power plant and catching Snorlax

Part of my prep for the 5th gym was terrorizing the entire east coast of Kanto and earning a buttload of cash along the way. 70k+ not including what my mother has saved. Not yet sure when I want to go catch Ho-oh and Lugia, and I never did get Rock Smash, so I haven't released the beast trio yet, which means I have to go back to Johto at some point.

Current team:
Feraligatr Lv46 w/Mystic Water
Ampharos Lv47 w/Leftovers
Gyarados Lv47 w/Amulet Coin
Noctowl Lv46 w/Leftovers
Steelix Lv46 w/Soft Sand
Nidoking Lv46 w/Poison Barb

I'm telling you, if you put up with it and manage to get it evolved, that ingame trade Onix can be a valuable member.

Upon arrival in Mahogany Town I heard rumblings of something weird at the Lake of Rage. I decided to investigate and encountered a Red Gyarados which I captured and threw in the PC. A man named Lance spoke with me about radio signals in Mahogany Town. We hurried back and discovered a Team Rocket hideout. You know playing through Silver again made me realize how insignificant Team Rocket is in these games. I mean the last time I saw them was Slowpoke Well about 12 hours ago. Anyways I made my way through defeating all the grunts and eventually had to defeat some Electrode to stop the signal. Lance gave me HM06 for my troubles and I immediately headed to the gym and defeated the trainers inside. Sunflora defeated Seel with Petal Dance, Ampharos knocked out Dewgong with Thunderpunch and Quilava used Flame Wheel to defeat his Pryce's Piloswine.

After exiting the gym and hearing about some shady business going on in Goldenrod City I decided to see if I could head east of Mahogany and to my surprise no one was blocking the path?! I skipped what trainers I could and headed to the Ice Path where I captured my final team member, a Swinub! Does this mean I can skip the Radio Tower plot? I didn't try but instead returned to Goldenrod City to begin making my way up the Radio Tower and stopping Team Rocket once and for all.

After kind of a slow day of backtracking to do Surf stuff, I ended up taking out three Gyms in rapid succession. And may I just say, when you can sweep two thirds of an Ice-type specialist's team with a Bayleef, and don't totally sweep him with said Bayleef because you want your Unown in on the action as well, there may be something seriously wrong with that Ice-type specialist's team. Just saying. Also, want to easily destroy Jasmine's Steelix? Got a Water-type and something with Fire Blast? Bring out the former against it, and switch to the latter. Guaranteed it'll use Sunny Day, which is your cue to destroy with Fire Blast. Did this with Qwilfish and Togetic, worked beautifully. Gonna take on Team Rocket in the Radio Tower, but for now, calling it a night. Here's the team;

Sudowoodo@Soft Sand, male, lv. 30
~Rock Slide
~Dig
~Low Kick
~Strength

Qwilfish@Mystic Water, female, lv. 30
~Sludge Bomb
~Surf
~Headbutt
~Icy Wind

Unown (G)@Quick Claw, genderless, lv. 30
~Hidden Power (Psychic)
~-
~-
~-

Stantler@Pink Bow, male, lv. 30
~Headbutt
~Flash
~Hypnosis
~Nightmare

Togetic@Charcoal, male, lv. 30
~Headbutt
~Fire Blast
~Fly
~Shadow Ball

Bayleef@Miracle Seed, female, lv. 31
~Razor Leaf
~Body Slam
~Reflect

Last night I bought the eShop version of Pokemon Silver. My events of it of course started in New Bark Town. I named myself Mando. I went to visit Mr Pokemon where I picked up the Mystery Egg and got my Pokedex from Professor Oak. On my way back to New Bark Town, I had my first rival battle with Revan.

After going back to New Bark Town and dropping off the Mystery Egg, I then was told to take the Pokemon Gym Challenge. After making it through Routes 29 and 30, I made it to Violet City. Course I made a quick stop at the Ruins of Alph to get the Unowndex for my Pokedex. My next objective is to explore Sprout Tower. I have seen 9 Pokemon and own 5.

Team Daedric Princes
Sheogorath (Totodile)
Gender: Male
Lv: 10
Hold Item: Berry
Moves: Scratch, Leer, Rage

Hircine (Hoothoot)
Gender: Male

Level grinded my team of 5 to lv 22 (23 for quilava) and mopped the floor with Whitney, my noctowl put her Clefairy to sleep and slowly pecked it to death, Clefairy woke up used Metronome got Tri Attack Noctowl took it like a boss then finished it off by pecking its brains out. Swapped out Noctowl when Miltank came out, my Flaafy Paralyzed it, then proceeded to Thundershock the living daylights out of it but sadly got KOed by rollout Arbok came out dodged rollout like a boss with dig, then finished off Miltank with a good old fashion headbutt, afterwords me and my team gathered up Whitney tears into champagne bottles and proceeded to drink up her tears feeding off her misery all the while laughing at her misfortune.

Also caught Sudowoodo and finally showed Elm Togepi

I don't know why you guys have such a hard time with Whitney. Just get a Sandshrew up to level 14 or so, and spam Sand Attack at her Miltank. Rollout and Stomp are already low accuracy moves, so it'll just keep missing and won't be able to build up a huge attack level w/Rollout. My team wasn't over level 15 or 16, didn't have any problems.

The remaining Kanto gyms have been defeated. I managed to solo and completely destroy Saffron gym with my Shadow Ball Nidoking, including Sabrina herself. I didn't have too much trouble with the other gyms, although I had a bit of an annoying start against Blue when his Pidgeot survived Feraligatr's Ice Punch, then proceeded to Mirror Move... and got the freeze hax. So annoying. The rest of the fight went better, although Feraligatr went down to a crit from Arcanine's ExtremeSpeed.

I also decided to do the Johto stuff I skipped over before, which included releasing the beast trio, and catching Ho-oh. I also got rid of poison Sting on Nidoking and opted for Mud Slap instead, although at some point I MIGHT trade it back to gen 1 to teach it EQ, although that would been getting rid of 2 of it's moves. Now, the long grind for the battle against Red begins. As such, this may be the last update I have for you for a while. My team currently:

Feraligatr Lv51 w/Mystic Water
Ampharos Lv50 w/Leftovers
Noctowl Lv50 w/Leftovers
Steelix Lv50 w/Leftovers
Nidoking Lv50 w/Pink Bow
Gyarados Lv50 w/Amulet Coin

Aside from all of this, I also plan on fully completing the Pokedex. I'm not sure whether or not I want to include Celebi in that list though, the glitch required to get it is... rather difficult, to say the least.
