1. My friend said he heard of a way to swim in water, instead of surfing. Is that true? If so, how do I do it?

2. Is there a possibility that I can get a shiny from an in-game trade?

1) It's false.

2) Not sure, may be possible, but I think ingame trades are fixed on one nature, ability, etc.

1) Your friend might mean HM08 Dive. However, you still need a pokemon for this.

2) I am quite sure that you can encounter shinys anywhere, inlcluding in-game trades.

gee that's swell
1. Wow, where did your friend hear that? It's absolutly False

2. I think so, I've never gotten one so I can't tell ya for sure

ima gonna smile now!
1) no, can't happen, unless you have some wierd glitch
2) i believe that the probability of an in game trade producing a shiny is the same as encountering one in the wild.

1. I wish it were true... it'd make it SOOOO much easier to get around sometimes but it's false unless ur using an unmentioable device.

2. The in-game trades will have the same chance as an in-the-wild. most of the info on that poke is randomly determined the same way as a wild one, the only variance is gonna be level since on some trades, the level of the pokemon u trade determines the level of the pokemon u recieve.

1. It's false, unless your game's, like, posessed or glitched or something. At least, I never heard of it.

2. I think the possibility of finding a shiny Pokemon is the same, whether it's a wild Pokemon, an in-game trainer's, a legendary, or an in-game trade Pokemon.

1. Absolutely not true. Maybe he was reffering to dive, but you still need a pokemon for that.

2. I think you have to trade a shiny pokemon to get a shiny. If the pokemon you trade is shiny, so should the one you get in the trade. I haven't actually tried this, so I can't truly confirm that. I it were true, I would still save my game before astually trying this. Someone should test this.

I don't think it matters if the pokemon you're trading is shiny or not. It's still a 1 in 8,192 chance. (or something like that)
