i think there should be two paths that you can take for dp.for example you start the game and you get two choose if you want to go around the region collecting ribbons to compete in the grand festival, or collecting badges so you can participate in the elite four

post your ideas

As much as I do love this concept, they won't do it yet. I pray for it in future generations though, it brings a lot of durability to the game and allows you to play multiple times.

I'd prefer the game didn't force you to start over to take the other path.. I never restart my Pokémon games.

Won't happen.

Besides, what's to stop you from doing both goals like back in R/S?
I don't know.. I just got the feeling he ment you had to choose then HAD to do that one thing.. then restart to do the other.

I doubt it'd happen. I'd be surprised if it did though. I think you should be able to choose what's your main focus though. I, being a Coordinator, would focus on Contest more than Gyms and probably treat Gyms as side quest, much like Contest in R/S/E. I don’t think that ether, badges or ribbons should appear on the trainer cards but a section in the device, like the PokeNav, for each. They would have to try and not make it to were you have to have a certain badge to use a certain HM.

if they do it in future games you should be able to choose whether you are a good guy like in red blue yellow etc. or you can be a bad guy like in team rocket or magma or something

It'll kill the open-endedness of the franchise. We can currently do both, so why the hell would we want to limit our gameplay?
