360 & external HHDs

Do you think that it is possible to connect the two? Microsoft said that MP3 players work and they are added as removable hard drives, or USB mass storage devices. When it comes in tomorrow I will ask if I could try to get it to work. Here's to me hopeing it works 'cause I have a 200GB External Hard Drive waiting if it does!

I'm 99% sure external PC HDD's will not work.
You can use any USB device as a storage unit to transfer music, pictures, videos or whatever, such as an iPod or even the PSP. But yeah, I'm quite sure the Xbox won't actually let you save files to these things.

Well, it is possible to save stuff to an mp3 player, right? Well I thought if the 360 saves stuff to that (Not sure it does though) then it could to HDD.

Anything to do with games wouldn't save onto the external HD though

That would be retarded if it did though, considering that the 20GB hard drive is 100 bucks.(not counting the P version.) I was hoping of a way around the painful money cycle. Example: People by 20GB Hard Drive, microsoft releases 40GB, people trade in 20GB for 40GB, microsoft releases 60GB, people trade in 40GB for 60GB, and each Hard drive is way overpriced then it should be.

Well, memory costs alot of money, have you ever bought a 2 gig memory stick duo, it costs more than $100 USD, 20 GB for $100 USD is actually pretty good, I payed $300 USD for a 20 GB ipod and that's actually a pretty good deal considering the price of memory sticks. The thing is I'd rather microsoft make the harddrive standard like in the xbox so they could expand live and improve the system knowing everyone who owns the system is capable of upgrading. Off-topic: Xbox 360 is good but I'm waiting to see what ps3 is capable of before buying one (I want the best system available, I can only afford one).

The Xbox HDD is not overpriced, not by a long shot. Try finding me a cheaper 20gig mini HDD, THEN you can call it overpriced. It's actually a very good price, a lot better than having to buy memory cards, and it's a really good deal if you just buy the Premium pack. Nobody should even be thinking about getting the core.
