3rd Gen Nuzlocke Challenge Thread!

So I entered the Pokemon Mansion and I walked around and encountered wild Pokemon and slayed them for extra experience. I reached a staircase and when I got to the next floor, I realized that I'd have to use the Mewtwo statues to open certain doors. I battled trainers around the various floors as I moved around and I also took some time to read the diary entries. I battled more wild Pokemon, then I fell down a hole. I wandered around battling more trainers until I reached the spot with the Secret Key that would unlock the Cinnabar Gym. I headed back outside and healed my Pokemon at the Pokemon Center, then I went to the Pokemon Lab and I talked to the various characters there and saved afterwards.

I apologize... I flubbed the title screen for Episode 7. It says part 8 instead of 7; but other than that, Peanut is now the new poster child of the series... let's hope it's not a cursed spot... First Treacle... then Crackers... (*knocks on wood nervously...*)

Episode 8: Bring it, Brawly!

The Journey Continues as I, Sensei Pong (aka. Redlark), face off with Brawly, the Dewford City Fighting Gym Leader. Muscles tense... fears rise... the moment of truth awaits. Is my Nuzlocke Challenge over?... seriously, I was worried about this fight like no other, Yo! The only true contender in this Gym is, Peanut, my Swellow... But if she falls... who will take the plate? Can they stand Brawly's beating? Am I going to face death once again??

I finally returned to the Cinnabar Gym and I challenged the Gym trainers; I could have easily solved the quiz questions, but I thought battling would be good for my Pokemon. I continued battling until I reached Gym Leader Blaine's place and I challenged him. I used Eric against his Ponyta and I beat it with Surf. I then used Eric's Surf attacks against Blaine's Arcanine as well. That barely beat Arcanine and then I used my Cliff against Blaine's Rapidash. I was able to beat it with Magnitude attacks and then I used Eric again against his Growlithe. I defeated it with Surf as well and I won the match. I obtained the Volcano Badge and I met Bill outside. We took a ferry and I saved once we arrived on One Island.

Episode 9: Slateport and the Bouncy House of Death

After a nice little boat ride, I forget why I reached Slateport in the first place. So many shiny things are distracting, I suppose. Luckily I catch a new Pokemon... yeah... we'll leave it at that... (*sigh*)

After meeting Celio, I headed to Kindle Road. After I defeated trainers, I used Rock Smash to smash some of the rocks around the area. I collected items around there and then I headed to the northern area of the path which led towards Ember Spa. I battled the trainers near the entrance of the spa, then I walked into the hot springs. My Pokemon were healed in the hot water and then I headed back out. I Surfed towards Mt. Ember afterwards and when I arrived, I met a guy there who wanted to teach my Pokemon the move Explosion. I didn't really care for the move, but I noticed some Team Rocket grunts who were hanging around. They didn't do anything though, so I used Strength to push a boulder.

I'm very excited, as I just started my first nuzlocke, on Ruby. Because this is my first time, I'm going easy on myself and using dupes clause.

• Arrived in Littleroot, chose Treecko (m) and named him Okceert.
• Fought and defeated May, went looking for new team members.
• Found a Wurmple (f) on route 101, caught and nicknamed Cindy.
• Found a Wingull (f) on route 103, caught and nicknamed Aqualung.
• Continued through route 102 toward Petalburg, and on the way found a Zigzagoon (m), caught and nicknamed SuperNam.
• Somewhere along the way, my Cindy evolved into Cascoon! (don't remember exactly where, this was yesterday.)
• After getting through Petalburg, I continued to the forest and killed my encounter there.
• Back on route 104, I found a Taillow (m), which I caught and named Hamrag.
• Continued past Rustboro to route 116, where I found and caught a Skitty (f) and named her Scoot.
• Caught a Whismur (f) in Rusturf Tunnel and named her Whismurple.
• Somewhere along the way Cindy evolved into Dustox.
• Time to fight Roxanne! Okceert killed Geodude, but just before we were about to finish off Nosepass, Okceert Died!
• After defeating the Team Magma grunt, I continued to Dewford. I proceeded to Granite Cave, where I found and caught Makuhita (m) and named him GarlicHead.
• Ground a bit in Granite Cave and proceeded to fight Brawly, and exited the gym unscathed. I arrived at Slateport without incident.

I left Mt. Ember's summit after slaying Moltres and went back to One Island. I visited Two Island next and headed to the Pokemon Center to heal my Pokemon. I then left once that was done and I talked to the various NPCs around the island. I then headed north to Cape Brink and I talked to the old woman there. She taught Sparky how to use Blast Burn and then I headed back to Two Island and I took the Seagallop ferry to Three Island next. When I arrived, I saw some Bikers hanging around town and I had to battle some of them. Once that was done, I bought some items at the local Poke Mart and then I made my way towards Bond Bridge since I had to go to Berry Forest. I saved when I arrived at the tall grass.

I just started nuzlocking my old Ruby game today, with no dupes clause and rule of not catching any pokemon until you get pokeballs. First I arrived in Littleroot Town, and chose my male starter, mudkip. It had a hasty nature, and I named it Tsunami. Later I also caught three other pokemon, two zigzagoon named Mika and Zachary and a poochyena named Midnight. Midnight has a gentle nature, while Mika and Zachary have a naive nature and a calm nature, respectively. I'll also admit that I wasn't too happy about having to get two Zigzagoon, but at least they both have Pickup, which allows me to get good items!

I made my way around the Bond Bridge area and I battled several trainers there and I eventually reached Berry Forest after passing by the coast. I entered said forest and I collected some Berries that were scattered throughout the forest floor. I battled wild Pokemon as I moved around the tall grass and then I reached pond that I could Surf over. I did that and then I reached a place with some skinny trees that could be cut down. I cut them and I found a Max Elixir. I continued to travel around the forest and then I reached the end and saw Lostelle. As I reached her, a wild Hypno appeared and I had to battle against it. I managed to capture it and then left the forest with Lostelle. I saved my game back on Three Island.

Episode 11: Mauville Antics

Back from a small hiatus of editing, here I meander around the city of Mauville in the attempts to train my team members to better levels, fool around with bike road, catch a new team member, play at the Mauville Game House (casino)...okay, I'm totally procrastinating my fight with Wattson... That fight's got death written all over it, and I refuse to have my series end in 12 episodes... but we shall see what happens...

After healing my team at the Indigo Plateau, I went back to Victory Road to train some more. The training took an hour and I headed back to Vermilion City and I took the ferry to One Island afterwards. I decided to train at Kindle Road against and trainers using the Vs Seeker. The Ember Spa was there also, so it was a good training spot since I could heal my Pokemon without disrupting my training. I visited Mt. Ember as well and I trained. I went to Three Island next and I trained at Berry Forest, then I went over to Two Island. I went back to Kanto's mainland after 40 minutes and I did some more training at Victory Road before ceasing. I stocked up on Full Restores and I saved before challenging the Elite Four.

I battled Lorelei and she sent out Dewgong and I used Fern. I beat Dewgong with Giga Drain and then Lorelei used Cloyster. I used Fern's Giga Drain again and Cloyster fainted too. Lorelei sent out her Lapras afterwards and I used Ben. I thought its Brick Break attack would come in handy, but Lorelei's Lapras injured it with a Surf attack. I had to use Fern against Lapras next and I beat it with Giga Drain as well. I switched to Sparky when Lorelei sent out her Jynx and I defeated Jynx with Flamethrower. I then used Fern again when Lorelei sent out her Slowbro and I defeated that Slowbro with Giga Drain as well. I healed my Pokemon next after I defeated Lorelei and I saved the game before moving on to the next room.

Episode 13: Wii Eyes

After my battle with Wattson, the third gym leader, I venture north to find more Pokemon. Headed towards Lavaridge, there's probably some story events that need to be taken care of, but in the midst, there's some new Pokemon arriving to my team. This should be good.

NerfedPika, despite my judgements, is slowly becoming an essential asset to the team and when I couldn't think a Pokemon couldn't get any lamer. Come and see!!

I healed my party after battling Lorelei and I entered Bruno's room. We battled and he sent out his Onix and I used Eric against it. I was able to defeat it easily with Surf and then Bruno sent out his Hitmonlee. I used Sparky and I attacked it with Fly. Sadly that wasn't enough to beat Hitmonlee and Hitmonlee attacked with Mega Kick, but Sparky's second Fly defeated it. I had to battle against Bruno's Hitmonchan afterwards and I defeated it with another Fly. I swapped out to Fern next and I used it against Machamp. Its Giga Drain attacks defeated Machamp eventually and then only Bruno's second Onix was left. I used Eric's Surf attack to defeat it and then I healed my Pokemon before going into Agatha's chamber.

Planning on starting this with PKMN Emerald.

My Starter is the 1st Doctor. From this point, if this pokemon dies, he Regenerates

Regeneration Rules
- I have 13 randomly generated, unhatched eggs in the PC. Any time the Doctor Dies, I pick up the next egg in line. I then use rare candies to level him up to the point that the last Doctor was.

I name each of the Doctors after the actors. 1st being Hartnell, 11th being Smith and so on.

Each Doctor gets up to 5 Companions. These Companions are found by the first encounter rules.
ADDITIONAL RULE - If the Doctor Dies, he loses ALL companions in the TEAM. Boxed Companions are not Effected.

Once I lose the last egg, and it dies, Game Over

Breeding can be done, but only once per Doctor, and never WITH the Doctor.

I battled Agatha and she sent out her her first Gengar when that started and I used Sparky against it. I defeated Gengar pretty easily with a barrage of Flamethrower attacks, then I had to face off against Agatha's Golbat. I used Cliff's Rock Tomb attacks against it and Agatha's Golbat fainted eventually. She sent out her Haunter afterwards and I attacked it with Cliff's Rock Tomb as well. It didn't faint though and it used Mean Look to keep Cliff in the battle. I defeated it eventually though and I used Ben against Agatha's Arbok. I defeated Arbok easily with Ben's Earthquake attack and then I used Eric and Sparky against Agatha's second Gengar. That battle lasted a long while, but afterwards I saved after the battle.

Episode 14: "Bumpin', Like Cool..."

Cause that's how I roll... yeah... This is essentially the events preceding some actually important events. My team keeps expanding as I catch a new Pokemon. And there's a close call... does this small mountain escapade end in disaster?

Okay... I'll be honest, I was wandering. Mostly because I forgot where I was supposed to go to progress the storyline. In my defense, it has been years since I last played Emerald.

So I healed my team after slaying Agatha and then I walked to Lance's chamber. We battled and Lance sent out his Gyarados first and I used Fern against it. I had Fern attack Lance's Gyarados with several Giga Drain attacks and that was enough to beat Gyarados eventually. Lance used his first Dragonair next and Eric's Blizzard attacks managed to defeat it. Lance used his second Dragonair afterwards and sadly Eric's Blizzard attack missed that time. I had to use Blizzard again to finally beat Dragonair and then I used Sparky, Ben and Dan to defeat Lance's Dragonite afterwards. All that was left was Lance's Aerodactyl, which Eric's Surf attack managed to defeat quite easily. I saved my game after my battle with Lance.

Episode 15: "Team Magma"

Oh yeah, the plot moves forward with more and more plot driving events. I wander a little bit, trying to figure out what I need to do next, but ultimately come across Team Magma and their leader in a crazy plot to blow up a volcano. Yeah, nobody cares; luckily for this video I catch a new Pokemon and a couple of my guys nearly get killed. It's good stuff.
