In my LG game, I got the Dome Fossil today and made it to Cerulean City. Since I chose Bulbasaur which is now a Venusaur, Misty doesn’t stand a chance.

Nice!! I started a mine last Sunday. Got caught a bunch of zigzagoons to save on pokeballs and potions lol. I'm 17 hours in and on my way to the next gym (5th badge). Have you caught any shinies?I just started my first playthrough of pokemon emerald

Thats awesome about your playthrough! I need to play a bit more because I've been a little bit busy. Also, I haven't gotten any shinies sadly, I hope I find one someday!

Started a new game in Ruby with Mudkip as my starter. So far I’ve gotten the first four Badges and evolved a Nincada into Ninjask and Shedinja. Took ages to do considering I found Nincada rather early into my play through. Also found a Surskit and Ralts before doing the Wally catching tutorial.

Picked up Firered after a long time. I got a lonely nature Charmander with semi-decent IVs (25 all around) without any RNG manip. Its not perfect but I think its enough to get 50+ wins in Battle Frontier. I'm not gonna make it a ribbon master ( I don't like contest) but I will make sure it gets all the battle related ribbons from gen 3 to 9.

So I was hunting for Shiny Manaphy yesterday. I know, I know, this is the Gen 3 board, I promise this is leading to something relevant. So yeah- it's slow going and somewhat tedious, so yesterday I decide to try dual hunting. I do that sometimes. And I had the Colosseum Bonus Disc Jirachi hunt on the back burner for a while, and both are hunts I've wanted to get done before Bank eventually shuts down, so I decide I'll try juggling both hunts at once.
Suffice to say, this was an extremely good idea.

In my current LG save, I defeated Lt Surge and am on my way to Celadon. On the SS Anne, I was actually quite surprised when I KO my rival’s Charmeleon in one hit with Ivysaur and Razor Leaf. It was a critical hit but still rather surprising considering Ivysaur’s health was still in the green and only an eighth of damage was taken. Lt Surge was laughably easy as Ivysaur took out Raichu after only one hit. My Ivysaur isn’t over leveled as it is only at level 30 right now and I’ve lost it to my rival twice while on the SS Anne. Also traded one of my Spearow for Farfetch’d and managed to win a trainer battle using it since it comes holding a Stick.

After finishing my Pokemon White playthrough last week I was thinking about what game to replay next and then I remembered that I have an unfinished Ruby playthrough from a few years ago so I decided to continue it instead of starting a new save.
When I started the game I found the player character standing in Slateport's Oceanic Museum so I guess the last thing I did when I stopped playing was the battles against Team Magma and delivering Devon Parts to Captain Stern. I also saw that I had won the first two badges from Roxanne and Brawly. My party had three Pokemon I remember wanting to use on my team and a low level Zigzagoon named HM01 for obvious reasons. The three Pokemon that were on my team and that will be staying on my team for the rest of the game were Grovyle, Taillow and Slakoth. No nicknames on them because I wanted to try and learn German Pokemon names since I only ever played Pokemon in English before.
I remember wanting to use a Sceptile when I started this save because it's my favorite Hoenn starter and the last time I used it was on my first playthrough of Alpha Sapphire back when ORAS first came out. Then I wanted to use a Swellow as my Flying type because I never used this cool regional bird on my team before despite my many Heonn playthroughs over the years. I remember wanting to challenge myself with Truant but also have fun with Hyper Beam Slaking since the move is still physical in Gen 3 so that's why I caught a Slakoth.
After making sure I've done everything I could in Slateport I decided to start my journey towards Mauville and battle every trainer I can find on the way there. I also decided to fish and was lucky enough to catch a Tentacool with a decent nature so I decided to make it my Water type for this playthrough and add it to the team. I battled my rival without much issues since my Taillow dominates most of her team for now. I made it to Mauville quickly and spoke with everyone I could there and that got me the Mach Bike. I battled Wally and his Ralts in front of the gym and then I went on the routes east and west of the city and battled all of the trainers I could find since my team doesn't have much for the Electric types so I needed levels and evolutions. My Slakoth evolved into a Vigoroth and Taillow evolved into a Swellow. I still think that the Magnemite line will be hard to deal with so I'll try to get another level or two on Vigoroth before I challenge the 3rd Gym.
My team so far:
Grovyle (M, Lv. 22): Absorb, Quick Attack, Pursuit and Leer
Swellow (F, Lv. 22): Wing Attack, Quick Attack, Focus Energy and Double Team
Vigoroth (M, Lv. 20): Scratch, Rock Smash, Yawn and Slack Off
Tentacool (F, Lv. 17): Thief, Poison Sting, Supersonic and Constrict
The only Gen 3 Hoenn game I ever owned or played was Sapphire but then a few years ago I got the chance to buy a legit German copy of Pokemon Ruby for a super cheap price so I did. I was excited to play it because my only Hoenn experience so far was in the versions with Team Aqua (Sapphire and Alpha Sapphire) so I was looking forward to finally going against Team Magma. Another reason was that I wanted to see how good my German was and how much of the dialogue I could fully understand since I've been learning German for a couple of years at the time.
So why didn't I finish this playthrough? Well I bought this Ruby in December of 2021 and that also happened to be the year when I played through Pokemon Sapphire twice since I was really in the mood for Gen 3 Hoenn for most of that year. So playing pretty much the same game for the 3rd time in less than a year felt a little boring even if it was the different version and in a different language. Another reason was that Pokemon Legends: Arceus came out shortly after I started this Ruby playthrough so I focused on the new game and kinda forgot about this Ruby save. But I remembered it now and I haven't played through Hoenn in a few years so I think it's the perfect time to finish this playthrough now instead of starting a new one.

I recently found a fake copy of Pokemon Ruby at a pawn shop!! It was openly advertised as a 'copy' but it was super cheap and I decided to give it a go. If it's non-functional, I can just use it for display. If it works, it'll pretty much just be a rom I can play on physical hardware. But so far, it surprisingly works completely fine? That I've noticed, at least. It's been over a week and still hasn't decided to randomly delete my save file, but I'm not holding out too much hope that it won't.
