I haven't touched anything Sinnoh related since at least 2012. I got Pearl for my birthday back in October of 2007, and bought Shining Pearl when it came out a few years ago, but did not really take to it the way I did the original. I must have put at least a thousand hours on the original Pearl back in the day, but never got around to playing Platinum. In those days, I didn't have my own stream of money yet and was limited to what I could ask my parents for- they did not see the benefit in buying what they thought was the same game all over again...
So, when fan consensus came to be that Platinum is the definitive way to experience Sinnoh, I always had it in the back of my mind to play Platinum instead of living vicariously through other people's playthroughs.
So, last week I fired up Platinum for my first time ever and decided to Nuzlocke it for about an hour at a time in the evenings after work. Progress is slow, and I have to get used to the Gen IV jank all over again, but so far Penpen the Prinplup, Rouge the Zubat, and Shadowfax the Ponyta are plugging along. Early-game "how the hell do I do this again" has sadly seen the end of The Doof the Bidoof and Starscream the Starly, but hopefully things will pick up before too long.
