my first MM target in BW is shiny ducklett (i figured id go with something not everyone is going for) and it hatches like really really fast it seems. i was wondering if anyone could briefly tell me how i could breed them all to have brine or air cutter cause ive always been confused about egg moves even after reading the thread about them

Brine is simple, breed the ducklett/swanna female with a male Tirtouga (or it's evolution) or an Alomomola that knows the move.

For Air Cutter, breed the female with a male pidove, woobat, or sigilyph (or their evolutions) that know the move.

Remember, if the father pokemon knows a move that target pokemon can learn either through level up, TM's or Breeding, then the newly hatched pokemon will know it.

Good luck.

I'm not reading through 117 pages to see if these questions have been answered so sorry if they have.

1 - When choosing the starter can you see if it is shiny once you open the box or do you need to enter the battle with bianca to find out?

2 - Is the shininess of the version exclusive genie set when you first meet it on rt 7, or when you first enter a battle with it?

1. You'll need to enter the battle with Bianca to find out (correct me if I'm wrong, someone).

2. It is set when you first meet it on Route 7.

There's a search option at the top of the thread for a reason...

1. They have to be selected and sent into battle in order to see if they shine. It is not like HG/SS Johto starters.
2. When you encounter the genie on Route 7, you can check your dex. If it is shiny in the dex, then it is shiny.

EDIT: Beat.

About the Genie does that mean you can't influence it's nature? Since the shiny factor is set on first encounter I suppose it's nature aswell as its IV's are set pre-battle aswell?

Also whats the best point to save before encountering him on route 7 for softresetting? (Where you have the possibility to still leave and do something else instead.)

You can SR for it to be shiny, so it should be possible to have different possible natures each time you reset :S

I meant with other Legendaries you can use a synchronize abbility to have a higher chance of the shiny legendary having the desired nature.

With the genie guy it doesn't seem possible from what I hear since you dont engage it in combat when its stats are assigned to the pokemon, so the synchronize abbility doesnt apply.

Day 4 of shiny Deino hunting. So far, ~200 eggs hatched and no shiny. ):

Remember: I'm going to be giving these Deino away if/when I finally find a shiny, PM me if you want one. (You can choose nickname, gender, nature, or if they have Pokerus!)

Got ahold of a male japanese Zorua on the GTS, currently breeding it with my female Zoroark in an attempt to MM a shiny Zorua.

I was doing the same hunt as well! It helps to have the hatching power from entralink. I was hatching eggs so fast with Flame Body added in. Build up a box of eggs, do 5 at a time with the hatching power, and you should be done in no time. I took a break from my hunt to catch a decent IV Victini, then I'm gonna hunt it again.

Okay, so I gave up on virizion. Mad at myself but I wanted to continue with my game. so I went to breed Zorua's, I THINK I have a foreign female. I really don't know about that. So I moved on and found a JPN Snivy on the GTS for a Female Zorua any level!! I had like four freshly breeded ones so swapped 'em and got the JPN Snivy ^^. I'm breeding now to see if I can get a shiny. *does happy dance*
