Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future

Hi all. We had a couple of reports of people's signatures getting edited etc. in a bad way. You can rest assured this wasn't done by staff and nobody has compromised any of our databases.
However, remember to keep your passwords secure. If you use similar passwords to elsewhere which has been accessed, people and even bots may be able to access your account.
We always recommend using unique passwords, and two-factor authentication if you are able. Make sure you're as secure as possible -

Hey, guys. No new shinies for me in 5th ten lately, but I've been focusing more on my 4th ten badge quests.
As far as my 5th gen hunts are concerned I'm at 900 Aipom eggs hatched in Black UK, and I'm at 22,631 encounters for a shiny Litwick in White.

That's not how I hatch for my shinies; I just save in front of the day care guy when he has an egg, collect five, hatch them, and if none are shiny I reset my game and repeat the process.

I would rather not stock up on eggs, because if a shiny one hatches in the early eggs, then you would be stuck having to hatch all the remaining ones anyway. :/

Yep.. I just put the hatched ones in a box and release them after 1 box is filled. That way I can still remember how many eggs I've hatched so far. 
I've done a lot of random encounters for the Shiny Patrat that I'm hunting; I managed to do around 200 yesterday and I'm up to 140 today. I'm probably going to keep going since I have a lot of free time right now. Aside from this hunt, I'm also contacting several people who traded their Shinies to me in the past. I have several that I'm trying to get rid of now that I've registered them in my Pokedex, so I'm making sure that their former owners know that they can have them back if they want to. I usually only care about my own Shinies, so it's not a real loss.
3822 encounters and this awesome beetle decides to shine, can't believe I got another 5% shiny and now all I need is shiny Heracross, then I would have every shiny in this route xD gonna keep hunting here for female Combee, kinda hoping I get a Heracross before then lol. Good luck everyone!

I'm almost at 400 eggs hatched for my shiny Feebas hunt - I have 20 more boxed to hatch before egg 400.
I think my Tirtouga hatching at less than 1,366 has me spoiled and thinking that this Feebas can hatch shiny at any second, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up. It'd be a dream if it hatched before 1,000, and I've seen some people who have had MM shinies hatch at less than 500 - but that would be asking WAY too much.
Anything less than 1,366 is great for me. Stick with it Shiny Supercrow, 1,450 is a ton of eggs, but one will be shiny soon!

I was just hatching some more Aipom in Black UK - I was at 960 eggs before I started, so I thought I might as well try and get to 1000 tonight, and on the 989th egg a shiny Aipom popped out!
It's female and has the Jolly nature I wanted. She also has pickup ability.
Here's a picture:
I would have made a video, but I was lucky enough to find a shiny Buizel in Platinum earlier today (also Jolly natured, funnily enough), and I didn't feel like uploading two videos in one day.
I'm off to try and find out shiny Aipom's IV's now. n_n

Nope, my lead was Watchog, 2nd up was Magneton as back up for those double encounters. I feel like giving it the nickname Brave or something xD Just to make everything Brave. Name, nature and give it Brave Bird. Idk what I want to hunt for next. May continue on Route 11, since my real want there was Gligar or Karrablast. Though I still don't know if I want to or not, and if not where to hunt next.

That cutey is from Desert Resort in my WHT 2. It took me 8,220 REs.
I use him in my in-game team, he's a Sandlash now.
I don't think I wanna hunt anything in WHT 2 after this. I'm just playing through the game and enjoy it. Unless if I find a cool spot to hunt.

I can't even imagine trying to encounter a shiny with everyone's high encounter rates. It seems like it would take forever and more.
The only shinies I have on my White is my Weavile and Ambipom for Double Battles, but I had to transfer them from 4th Gen. Nothing random yet.

I got my Braviary in two days. As long as you have plenty of time to spend it should be fairly easy, though sometimes the hunts can be long. I got to 1300 RE's yesterday, and up to 1934 today when I got the shiny Braviary. I moderated between 300-400 RE's before taking like 2 hour breaks.

I always reset and take a break after 100 encounters (like 5-10 minutes), as I do triple hunting.
If you have more than one game and DS system, double or triple hunts raise your chances.
Usually I get a shiny before it hits the odd (1/8192). If I'm diligent enough to hunt (and lucky enough of course), in one month I can get like at least 5 shinies.
Well, on rare occasions, a shiny doesn't appear even after 10k when I triple hunt. But that's rare.
Still, it's not easy to double/triple hunt, as you have to be really focused and determined. I'm used to it for years.^^
Anyway, I got my Sandshrew like in one month.
FYI, I've hunted there before in my 3 B/W games. That's my hunt that didn't want to yield any shiny even though it had reached 10k.
Annoying hunt in annoying place. But it's all over. So everyone's happy.
