I caught mine just now. Still a matte black doesn't look so great in 3d. I think it would work if it was darker in a almost reflective black.

Here is my advice. Even with a Zacian lvl 100. The Rayquaza boss will be very resistant to Moonblast before Terastalizing.

The one i fought had Earthquake Extreme Speed Dragon Ascent and Hurricane. I never saw it trying to use Earthquake on Zacian

I've only found one online. We couldn't take it down either.

Where does it usually spawn?

You just have to check out every non-black Dragon icon with a sparkly halo since they could be a Blissey raid instead. Soloing it may be better as while it is not too hard (confusion hax aside, got the job done with Fairy Arceus), randoms just tossing Pokemon right after beating the main story likely will result in a loss.

Ah. I've run into nothing but Blissey raids lol. They had a decent set up. Another person brought in a Fairy type like I did and the others worked hard.

I got into a offline Blissey tera trap near Casseroya Lake. That BLOB thing just spammed defense buffs and then heavy slammed Zacian until i rage quitted.
After that i checked online and it took me 2 tries to get a Rayquaza raid (one of them timed out in the lobby)

I got a pretty good Rayquaza. It has maxed health, physical attack and speed but it.
But it has extra attack boost in exchange for a lowering sp defense nature

IVs are random aside from the shiny Rayquaza guaranteed to 4 perfect IVs. Its nature is also locked to be Naughty.

Solo'd mine with my level 100 Baxcalibur

Swords Dance, Icicle Crash, Avalanche and Ice Tera Type crippled Rayquaza.

Nice. I'll have to double check the move sets on mine.

Came close earlier, but missed by an inch.

Traded over some stuff to try out as well.

After following the tip of someone from other board, I managed to beat it with Tera fairy Azumarill.

First try was a fail duo mostly bad AI match-ups (only useful one was Bellibolt with Light Screen) and some bad luck.

Second was more smooth since I got Arboliva trainer and an Intimidate mon (Arcanine).

I'd say the perfect comp for AI partners is Arboliva+Bellibolt+Intimidate mon. Grass terrain, light screen and attack drops really helps keeping Azumarill alive long enough to do its job.

@Smeargle-Sketch Got the Rayquaza! Just changed my Baxcalibur's type to Ice, taught it Avalanche, Swords Dance. Ended up using a combo of Avalanche and Dragon Claw on it and took it down. Caught it in a Luxury Ball and named it Stormy, after the shiny one that I caught in Pokemon Emerald.

My guys moveset was, Avalanche, Swords Dance, Dragon Claw and Icicle Crash.

All this waiting and it was a 5* raid? What a disappointment.
I mean, of course I'm glad they didn't do another Mewtwo (as in, a raid that is tailored to be impossible to beat on solo to force you to pay for online), but I thought this was going to be a 7* at least as challenging as some of the starters were.

With it being lvl.75, you don't even need a strategy. Just use whatever on lvl. 100 that is super effective and you will win.
My Azumarill didn't even need Belly Drum to solo it, just spamming Play Rough every round was enough and my HP never fell beneath 80%.

I get being disappointed, but I'm glad it wasn't something like what you mentioned. Not everyone likes those kinds of overly hard raids.

I find 5 star ones to be an even balance, between the easier raids and the harder ones.

It allows for more people to have a chance.

You need some strategy to take it down imo. At least some defense, then more on offense.

Another example of a harder 5 star raid, via Annihilape:

Post in thread '7-Star Raids - Strategies, Speculation & Discussion Thread'

It was still a pita. If someone doesn't have faster reflexes, then they might have issues with the raids.

Not everyone has the time to raise a perfect Pokemon. Not everyone has enough items.

I'm thankful that I lucked out, given that I'm using a rental game. So my time is that much more limited.

Ya Mewtwo where you needed pretty much just 4 mews is not a great method.

That's the only raid I simply could not be bothered with.

Yea and if it wasn't levelled up enough in time, you were screwed over.

Hated that raid.

Only took out around 25 percent off of a Mewtwo.

Caught the Shiny Rayquaza. Mostly played a support role using Azumarill using Charm and Aqua ring to keep it from getting too many physical hits or knocking me out in the process before I could cheer and bring back my allies from being close to a knock out as at least two were earthquake weak. When the wall was up I did manage to use Play Rough and Tera Blast to cause some damage and managed to get the final hit. It wasn't too bad really.

Yes you needed perfect bug tera type and scour paldea for ingredients for the moves and follow exact guides. You weren't even supposed to be able to catch that version Mewtwo if i remember it right.....which is just insulting.

It is indeed a good thing this Rayquaza event is not a 7 star or a mightiest mark moveset. It a level 100 maximum star would just turn into a absolute killer pokemon with all sorts of special boosts.
