Saw a random thumbnail on youtube suggesting Torterra as something to use in solo runs but I haven't watched it.

But it having Focus Energy is going to make the fight way more annoying.

Torterra works wonders in this raid. I challenged twice (Scarlet and Violet) and caught it both times.

Torterra @ Shell Bell (Tera Type: Dark)
Impish Nature | Shell Armor
252 Atk, 252 Def, 6 HP
- Crunch
- Iron Defense
- Swords Dance
- Synthesis

It is important that one of the computer partners is a Pokémon that has intimidate as an ability (First time I got lucky with Tauros and Staraptor both times). Start boosting defense with Iron Defense until the stat wipe, healing when necessary. After that, Iron Defense three times followed by three Swords Dance, three Crunch, then tera-Crunch until you win. Two intimidators makes it even easier. My second time I had two with intimidate and Toxapex throwing chilling water. Torterra has shell armor which prevents those crits making those attack drops actually matter. Tyranitar is annoying but suffers from having an exploitable weakness.

I end up beating online with randoms but took a few tries since people insisted on bringing poor choices.

Had to cancel raids because people wanted to use stuff like Skeledirge or Iron Hands....

The team I won with had two Krookodiles and a Slowbro. Honestly, I was surprised we managed to do it given the later's presence. Anger Point was quite handy as a pseudo-counter to Tyranitar's crit fest.

How exactly is Crunch a good move against a Tyranitar. Why not use a Body Press instead of Synthesis ?

Tyranitar has the Ghost Tera type making it immune to Fighting. Also used Torterra to defeat Tyranitar, got lucky getting Arcanine and Staraptor as partners. Caught it in a Safari Ball, will not be farming this but will update the event when the Tera Shard/Exp Candy Blissey raids accompany T-Tar’s rerun.

I forgot about his Tera type. Does anyone know the most usual moves Tyranitar is using ?

The next of the pesudo-legendaries 7-star raids is up next, featuring Flying Tera Salamence. Odds are it will have Moxie as it is much more dangerous than Intimidate from a Tera Raid perspective. Negating its ability or going for Unaware is going to be key.

That makes sense. Interesting that its flying type as Salamence's as I'm curious whether it will be a mixed attacker. Special attacker or focus on attack (i suspect physical) . When it comes to flying moves there's Dual wingbeat, Fly, Aerial Ace, Air Slash, Hurricane and of course Tera Blast. Dragon Dance and Sword Dance are boosting options. There's also Roost which provides a healing option. Earthquake I suspect will be there to deal with steel and Rock types.

If it has Moxie, I would assume that it would want to abuse boosting moves. In this case, I suspect that Skill Swap using Contrary Malamar might be making its return.

Salamence’s raid script was posted and while it is not a boost spammer (just one scripted Dragon Dance) it is a pseudo-mixed sweeper (due to how Tera Blast operates) with perfect coverage against its would be counters (packing both Earthquake and Flamethrower). Dondozo isn’t looking too hot now as Salamence’s special moves prey on its weaker Special Defense stat.

Edit: Did it with Gastro Acid Eelektross, had Protect in case Salamence goes for Earthquake when your Ability gets negated. Caught it in a Lure Ball, Gardevoir or Bellibolt will be your best teammates.

So the next raid is only a 5 star and it's a repeat of the Gimmighoul raid (with a standard chance to be shiny). Have to be honest probably going to skip this unless I get bored. If Gimmieghoul and Gholdengo don't have a great shiny.

Metagross is up next for the 7-star pseudo-legendary raids. Odds are it will have Clear Body to no-sell dropping its stats, Steel Tera also means Acid Spray is useless. Skeledirge looks to be a solid answer but Earthquake and potential Zen Headbutt flinches (if Metagross uses it as its Psychic move) can cause issues.

One thing I could see them doing is having it buff itself with Hone Claws. Not just for the attack boost, but the accuracy boost could be very useful for Meteor Mash and zen headbutt.

Metagross having two scripted uses of Iron Defense means Iron Defense + Body Press may not as effective as people thought (along with Thunder Punch for Corviknight and Skarmory). Got it done with a Bold Unaware Skeledirge with EVs in Sp Atk and Defense with the moves Torch Song, Scorching Sands, Protect and Slack Off. Did pretty much have the perfect teammates for the job (Arbolivia for Grassy Terrain and Umbreon with Thunder Wave so Metagross becomes slower).

Caught it in a Heavy Ball since I already have a Beast Ball Metagross, nicknamed it Go-rha (after a certain Xe-dom Tyrant from XCX) as its Turn 0 shield is effectively a big middle finger for those planning on using Skill Swap and the like.

Edit: From reading Metagross’ raid script it has the same HP multiplier as Mightiest Charizard, guessing that is a slight blessing given the Turn 0 shield.
