Okay, so I'm going to Australia tomorrow. Early. I have only today to write.

I have a near-finished chapter of my fic, and I'm trying to finish it so I can post it today before I leave (instead of having to post it in three weeks when I return).

Do you think it's a good idea to rush to try to finish a chapter like this? Should I just leave it for three weeks, or finish it now and risk it not being quite as good as it could otherwise be?

I might add my readers have been waiting for a chapter since March. x_X;

Well, just generally, do you think it's a good idea to risk the last part of a chapter being slightly rushed in situations like this? Normally I'd try to do it well, but when it's not a matter of maybe just a couple of more days but actually a matter of three weeks of no writing at all... Dunno, it just seems like such a waste... Urgh. ><

Well, what do you think?

I say go ahead and rush it and then if its not of your favorite quality, then just don't post it and tweak it up when you come back. Have you considered taking some pen and paper and writing on the plane? Iceland to Australia seems pretty long

Ionically enough (not ironically), I could have sworn by the title that this was a SPAM thread and that you closed it!

I say, go for it. Use whatever/all ideas you want for it and just let it all flow, spellcheck and leave em' hanging...leave the kids some toys, y'know? ^_^

I am going to sound like a parrot when I say go for it and post the next chapter today. Try your best to make it a good one. Actually, one of my teachers said doing things faster will make you more focused. o_O

After you posted the story, you can always edit it after you come back from your trip.

;134;~Good night, and good luck~

Personally, Dragy I say write it up as much as you can. Get it edited fast, post it and if you see a need for changing it, you can edit. We won't mind. In fact, I make no secret in saying that's what I do with my story. Then again, I don't give myself a deadline.

Either way, say hi to the kangaroos for me.

I don't know what time zone you're in or what, but if you haven't left yet, then yes, rush. Just put a little author's note in the beginning that if the ending seems odd, then you'll just come back and fix it upon your return or something. Also, just post it to the forum for now maybe and don't post it to your site yet?

I love rushing and writing chapters in only the span of one or two days. That's how many people wondered how I got nearly twenty-five chapters done in only seven weeks. Afterwards, it is much easier for me to go over and edit the parts I dislike, tweaking up the details and adding more lines of dialogue and plot elements. And as Iceking had stated in his post, you can always wait to post it if you feel as though it isn't up to your usual standard. However, it is a challenging effort to see if you can get it done. I say go for it.

Hmm, I think Iveechan hit the nail on the head. I could just put it at the forums as a 'beta version', so to speak, and then fix it up before I put it on my site and such. :/ Not much harm done, then, if it ends up being bad. And yeah, if it seems really rushed, I can wait with it altogether. Thanks for voicing your opinions, everyone. I think I'm going to manage to finish the chapter tonight, so I should be fine.

hooray, it's Jetx!
Personally I say rush it and let somebody else proof-read it whilst you're away.

Post it now and make a revised chapter when you come back. It is one of those unusual circumstances where you should just make one chapter revision rather than the whole thread.

Then again everyone else said it much better than I did so there really wasn't much point in my posting was there?
