A breeding question...(Emerald)

An apparently simple and n00bish question, I really do apologize for it, but it's kind of been picking at my mind for a while.

I can understand that in Emerald, you'd need either the Ditto or the female parent to hold an Everstone for a chance (50%, according to the site, at least) that the offspring will have the same nature.

However, I have a question for those Pokemon in the mineral category. Is it possible to make either Ditto or the other Pokemon hold an Everstone for a chance that the offspring can have a chance of inheriting either parents' natures?

pokemon in the mineral egg group are no different from the ones in any other egg group. (if they were, glalie might be very confused having to try to work under 2 sets of rules.

i don't understand where this question is coming from, could you try to clarify it a bit? which particular pokemon are you wondering about?

EDIT: are you talking about the ditto egg group (genderless pokemon that can only breed with ditto)? everstone only works on ditto in that case.

I have a breeding question of my own but I don't want to make a new thread, so sorry if I'm hijacking.

What is the most efficient way to breed for flawless IV's?

Right now what I'm doing is hatch 5 eggs with a Slugma in my party, run them through the IV calc. write them down, save the best few, rebreed and repeat.

It get's confusing though keeping track of which baby has which IV's if I place them out of order by accident.

Also do you guys catch like a whole load of Dittos and look for ones with flawless stats?

yes on the ditto question. whenever i need a pokemon with a particular flawless stat i just breed it with the appropriate ditto until i get: a) a male offspring with the right flawless if i'm breeding for moves right then, or b) a female offspring with the right flawless and nature if i'm breeding for species, then breeding moves onto that.

i don't bother checking their IVs unless they have a stat that looks like it could be flawless (for example, 7 defense on a level 5 chansey is either a 30 or 31 IV in Defense), then i switch the magmar out of my party and put an aerodactyl in, fly to the battle frontier and talk to the pokemon breeder in the house behind the pokemon center. if he says anything below flawless about a stat (outstanding, quite impressive, relatively good), then it doesn't have a flawless stat. if it does, then congratulations, you have a single-flawless pokemon to work from. you can then breed that with a ditto with the second flawless you're looking for, and repeat.

Uh, yeah, I ment the Ditto group, like Metagross and Porygon (what the hell was I talking about back there ._.). I apologize for any confusion.

I guess this thread should be closed.

the pokemon in the Ditto egg group are the ones who can only breed with ditto. namely, all genderless non-legendary non-unown pokemon. ditto, ironically, isn't a part of the Ditto egg group because you can't breed 2 dittoes in the the 3rd generation games.
