A dex order I never understood

As we all know, there are 386 Pokemon. Nintendo did a good job putting the Pokemon in a great National Dex Order. But on many websites they put the 3rd generation in one of the dumbest order I have ever seen!:

I mean COME ON! They make it feel like that ;358; is the rarest 3rd gen Pokemon. Compare this to http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-rs/

Chimecho was intended to be the Jirachi equal. It's old info that was never fixed.

As fhqwhgads said, Chimecho WAS meant to be a Jirachi equal, but, as we all know, that idea was screwed, and Chimecho ended up becoming a rare Pokemon instead. But the order of the Pokemon is still messed up, I must say.

Even the national dex order sucks IMO, why are pre-evos split up from their evos, like pichu and cleffa? They should be with the other 2 in their family. It's like having Charmeleon/zard as 4/5 and Charmander as 156. Stupid.

I hated the order for RS. Having Pokemon appear in the dex almost in the same order you encountered them is just boring. They must learn from G/S. And maybe R/B/Y

And, as a billion people said before me, Chimecho was an equal to Jirachi, but they decided that it was lousy, and ditched the idea.

And tweaking the code on your website so that the pokemon are in the correct order is boring. Many opt to not do it, by the looks of things.

This order is indeed crap. But it is ordered from which 3rd Gen. Pokemon were coded first. Chimecho is the last Pokemon coded into the game.

The reason the National Dex does that is because, obviously, they ordered it by generation. They're not gonna screw with the numbering of the original 151 just to place Pichu in there.

But since you brought it up, it is screwed up how the Houen order doesn't do that. After the first 202, they just order the remaining 1st and 2nd generation Pokemon in the same damn order as the National, not giving any regard to evolution lines. And speaking of features missing from the GSC Pokedex, where the hell did the Unowndex go?

My suggestion is that was a Johto exclusive up-grade that was given by the scientist studying the place. Plus there was no-one studying the ;201-a;s in the Sevii Islands if you didn't notice.
