Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future

so according to bulbapedia, Dawn and Brock made a cameo appearance at the end of this episode is that true? if so I hope the writers realize that favoring some characters over others is a good way to kill their popularity

I thought it was funny when they showed all the nurse joy in kalos who had a wigglytuff partner, except the Joy in this episode had Audino. I wish Ash could have mentioned that Audino were common in Unova / I wish I could understand why Nurse Joy was upset with having Audino. The old lady was telling her something, but alas, I don't understand Japanese :/

...which was actually a segment showcasing "Pokemon Centers around the world", with a primary focus on the core difference between the different region's Centers, ie which assistant Pokemon they use. Hence the obvious need to use footage from older series.

I love how at the end of the episode Nurse Joy got to Mega Evolve her Audino .
I didn't like it. It was just a kick in the gut that this COTD gets a Mega Evolved mon meanwhile Ash doesn't...

Once again, despite being besties with Sycamore, it never occurs to him to give Ash a Mega Stone. Maybe this version lacks items to give people the stones? It's the only explanation why Joy gave back the stone and ended up rendering the point moot for her to Mega Evolve her Audino anytime she wanted.
Speaking of which, way to overplay her powers. And somehow, Heal Pulse is a brainwashing move. That has a lot of bad implications for a nurse already.

They never did the post-ending Oak's Holo Caster so I personally don't think they're obliged to do Poke TV either, especially stuff like "I Love Pikachu".

Watched the episode, I don't mind this episode tbh. It's the better of the Episode 2-4 fillers in my opinion. Sycamore's saying he's anxious to get the results as soon as possible, well obviously that soon is a fair while away. :/

Well, logic says that you won't get anything out of an unknown specimen when you have absolutely no leads about it...and much less so when you don't, you know, take it with you to run experiments on it.

A fine episode. Not really much to say for this episode, but I guess it's good to see Sycamore in person again. Mega Audino is cool.
I'm sure that they'd have some data on Zygarde-50% at least. You can't not know about a regional legendary Pokemon, although knowing the new forms is an exception. Whether this hypothetical data is DNA related is a whole different story.

It's a decent episode. More or less a filler. Follows a fairly typical anime plot line. Only majorly important thing that happened was Professor Sycamore being introduced to Zygarde Core - I really wish he wouldn't call it Squishy because it sounds so unprofessional. It's the nickname a little girl gave a super powerful legendary Pokémon.
Mega Audino was cool but I don't think it was handled well. I had assumed this episode would set up that Nurse Joy and Audino were close friends who had been together for a long period of time and for that reason had the requisite bond to Mega Evolve. Instead the two had a rather patchy relationship that had started out badly. While it was stated that they "normally" get along, it has to be wondered who they were able to get Mega Evolution so quickly given it took Korrina and Lucario so long to perfect it. Plus they patched their poor relationship up pretty quickly. One minute they were fighting, next it was "Team Rocket's attacking quick get the mega stone."
Those two being able to use Mega Evolution on their first go goes against most of what we already know about Mega Evolution. Every other trainer/Pokémon have had something special about their relationship; Sycamore raised Garchomp from a Gible and went to huge lengths to get it trust him, Korrina and Lucario seemed ready to pick out the furniture, and Alain and Chairzard...Well that's their business. But Joy and Audino didn't have anything about their relationship that stood out as being indicative of the sort of trainers and Pokémon who have used Mega Evolution. I would have thought the fact they didn't get along would be a barrier to it working at least for a short period of time. But they got it in one.
I can't help but think this episode is an attempt to demonstrate a lower threshold for Mega Evolution so it looks less silly when Sawyer come out with Mega Sceptile. And if a random Nurse Joy is Mega Evolving an Audino she's constantly arguing with why on earth isn't Ash using it.
This episodes another in the series that makes it clear that Ash has emotionally and physically matured since the previous generation. He and Pikachu easily jumped down those ledges suggesting he's quite physically fit and then he tried to pull Nurse Joy out of the crack. Those are two things he probably wouldn't have done before XY.
Finally. Is that Giga Meowth robot going to show up in every Sycamore Mega Evolution episode. And if so why does it ONLY so up in episodes where someone's got a Mega Evolution. One wonders why Team Rocket wouldn't use it to capture Pikachu when the "twerps" are alone in the forest with no Mega Audino, Blaziken or Garchomp to save them.
