A Herald's Journay

the ultimate lifeform

Bringer of chaos.
Alright, this is my first fic, A Herald's Journey. It's rated PG or PG-13 for cussing and blood. This is a Pokemon crossover with Sonic the Hedgehog and Dragonball Z, so it'll get pretty chaotic.

In the Pokemon world, this occurs in the Kanto Battle Frontier saga on the show. In DBZ, it's after the Cell Saga, despite the fact Goku is still alive. And for Sonic the Hedgehog it's after the events of the game Shadow the Hedgehog.

Already confused? Well, get used to it. There's going to be at least two original characters, one who's the fic's about and one who's the Metal Sonic to Shadow.

Since I'm not the best at describing things (mainly the Black Arms) here's a link to pics that will get my point across: http://www.sonicstadium.org/index.php?artwork=shadowth

The first chapter a spoiler of the last story of ShtH so those who haven't played that part of ShtH, you have been warned. Also, don't move my fic cause the next chapter will have Pokemon stuff in it.

Anyway, here's the first chapter, The End Begins.
________

Earth, normally a peaceful planet, is under attack. The largest cities, Westopolis, Central City and many others, have been turn to rubble. The sky now filled with blood red clouds and amongst the rubble of Westopolis a giant comet floated above the ground with three long roots digging into the earth.

The only sigh of life was a blue hedgehog running at the speed of sound, stopping suddenly as a building collapsed. When the dust cleared he continued running until he heard a young girl’s voice yell “Sonic!”

Sonic the Hedgehog turned to see Amy Rose, a pinkish hedgehog in a red dress; Miles Prower, a two-tailed yellow fox who is better known as Tails; Knuckles the Echidna, a red echidna with spiked bowing gloves as hands; Rouge the Bat, a treasure hunter who's basicly a female bat version of Knuckles; and Dr. Eggman, the only human known to have an egg shaped body, running towards him.

“Hey guys!” Sonic said, but was sent to the ground as Amy tried to hug him.

“Oh, Sonic! I thought I would never see you again!” Amy started to cry and tried to kiss Sonic but was quickly throw off him as he got up. “Amy! This is a kid’s fic for goodness sake!” said Sonic in an angry voice.

A load explosion in the sky brought them back to their senses and they looked upward.

“Still going at it, huh?” asked Rouge. All they could see through the red clouds was a dark silhouette and a golden light moving at an incredible speed.

“Yep, and nether will go down without a fight, of course,” answered Knuckles,” By the way, do you have any idea what happened to the Master Emerald after we defeated Metal Sonic, Rouge?”

“Can we focus on the matters at hand? If he loses, who’s gonna care about the stupid Emerald?” snapped Tails. He looked back up and said,” You can do it….”

“You’re part of my grandfather’s legacy so don’t lose!” said Eggman.

“We’re all counting on you!” cried Amy.

“You’re our only hope now,” said Sonic.

High in the sky, the world’s ultimate life form, Shadow the Hedgehog, is going all out against the being partly responsible for his creation, Black Doom.

Doom, normally an alien with no legs, three eyes and horns growing from either side of his head, was now in his demon form. He had two heads on both ends of his body, one where a head would be and one where a tail should be, giant wings, three claws on both hands, and where legs would go, a giant organ of some sort.

“Now, come Shadow! Die along with these pitiful humans!” Black Doom cried telepathically.

Like Black Doom, Shadow was assuming a different form. A black hedgehog with red highlights and white fur on his chest, add the power of the Chaos Emeralds and the black fur changes to a gold color.

“The only one going to hell today is you, Doom!” yelled Shadow. He started to fly at Black Doom and his hand began to glow. Black Doom used his psychic powers to raise buildings and other debris from the ground and threw them at Shadow. He quickly dodged these and continued to charge Black Doom. When close enough to Black Doom’s only eye he let lose the energy in his hand as he cried,” Chaos Spear!”

Black Doom let out a scream of pain and swung an arm, sending Shadow flying. The eye moved to the other head. “Damn you Shadow!”

“That’s my line you creep!”

This process continued until….

“No, how can this be? I’m the most powerful being in the universe! I am the immortal life form! Ughhhh ahhh!” These were the final words Black Doom said as he fell to the earth.

“This is the end for you and for my cursed past! Finally!” Shadow yelled. But…that seemed to easy, he thought.

He flew under the comet and looked like he was going to try to lift it. “Only one thing left to do to put the past behind me. Chaos…Control!” There was a flash of light and he and the comet disappeared. The comet reappeared in space in front a space colony that looked like half the moon with a gaint cannon in the center. The Eclipse Cannon began charging up energy and shot a laser beam at the comet, blowing it up.

The people of Earth started to celebrate, while in a room on the Space Colony ARK Shadow, in his normal form, was staring at a photo of his creator, Professor Gerald Robotnik, and his granddaughter, Maria.

He quietly said,“ Goodbye forever, Shadow the Hedgehog.” He tossed the photo and walked out of the room.

Meanwhile, a set of six comets floated through space, light years from Earth. On the inside of each one thousands of black aliens were busy preparing for war. Suddenly one of them began to scream in pain and began to mutate. After a few minutes, Black Doom was hovering over the aliens.

“Mwuhahaha! Shadow may believe that I have been defeated but he doesn’t know the real invasion is soon to come!” He floated into a room where a few aliens were building a robot that was not quite finished. He observed the work for a while and asked,” What do you think, Metal Sonic?”

“It’s amazing. Metal Shadow will destroy its original!” said a robot that looked a lot like Sonic as it entered the room.” I hope Sonic will still prove to be a fight after my upgrade. My loathsome copy will not defeat me again!”

“Once a few monkeys are taken care of no one will stand in our way! Mwuhahaha hahaha haha hahaha haha haha! Cough! Ack! Someone bring me a cough drop! Cough!”

Made some changes to the first chapter. You guys can post stuff, you know. I want to hear your thoughts, people.

Here's the second chapter, Enter the Sayians!

_________
Ash Ketchum ran down a path in a forest with his best friend Pikachu hanging on to his backpack. He stopped, turned around and called,” May, Max, Brock! Hurry up! What Slowpokes.” A fourteen-year-old Pokemon trainer, always trying to get to each destination in a hurry, was now traveling in the Battle Frontier of Kanto with his friends.

“Could you slow down a bit? It’s not like we won’t get to the next city in a few centuries or anything,” asked May. An eleven-year-old girl who at first only liked Pokemon training for being able to travel around the world until she discovered Pokemon Contests.

“You know Ash. He gets excited about something and won’t stop until he gets there,” replied Max, May’s nine-year-old brother, a complete know-it-all when it comes to Pokemon.

“May’s got a point, Ash. The next city is a few days away anyway. We should break for lunch,” recommended Brock. As the oldest of the group at age nineteen, he sort of runs things whenever he’s not chasing girls.

Pikachu gave out a little “Chu!” to the idea, probably agreeing to it. “Alright, I know when I’m out voted,” said Ash with sadness in his voice.

They continued walking until they entered a clearing and began to set up lunch. Brock started to get the things he needed out of his backpack while the others collected wood. He was about to start cooking when he heard May scream.

He jumped up to see Ash and Max ran back to Brock, dropping wood as they went. As they got close Brock asked, “What’s going on? You two look like you’ve seen a ghost!”

“Men! Bleeding! Not awake! Hurry!” The two said this very fast, dropped their wood and ran back, Brock following them.

They found May, stiff as a board and looked like she was going to faint, staring at two unconscious bodies of men that were bleeding to death. One was wearing an orange martial arts outfit and the other was wearing a blue training suit that covered the entire body. Both had spiky hair and their clothes were torn in a few places. They each had bruises and cuts on their arms, legs and body.

Ash quickly ordered Pikachu to give a Thunderbolt to both of them. For ten minutes all that happened was Pikachu crying “Chuuuuu!” continually and the flashes of the electric attack shocking the bodies. Just as they began to lose hope, the one in the orange started to stir. Ash asked Pikachu to stop and waited. Soon enough, the man woke up.

He moved to a sitting position and yawned. He looked around lazily from the kids to the other man. He reached into his shirt and pulled out a bag. He took a bean out and ate it. He jumped up, scaring the others, and began to stretch.

Ash and the others stood there, mouths open, even Pikachu. They couldn’t believe their eyes. The man’s wounds had been healed and he hasn’t done anything about his friend.

The man noticed them staring. He walked to the other man and started kicking him, loudly saying, “Yo, Vegeta! Wake up, will ya?” There was a loud thud as Ash and the others fell to the ground.

Vegeta stirred, woke up and lazily said, “Damn it, Kakarrot. Can’t you give the Prince of Sayians any sleep?”

“When are you going to start calling me Goku?” asked the man. He threw Vegeta a bean.

“Never,” he answered as he ate the bean. He hopped up and started to stretch.

Suddenly, a young boy appeared, no older than Ash. He looked at the two, then at Ash and the others, who were still as wide-eyed as when Goku ate his bean. He shook his head and said, “Where were you two? You were gone five days, making Mom and Bulma get worried sick.”

“It’s alright Gohan. You know how training with Vegeta gets,” said Goku.

“What’s that supposed to mean!?!” Vegeta asked, his temple twitching.

“Hey! I know you guys! You were at the Cell Games, weren’t you?” May suddenly interrupted. The others still had that same look only they were facing May. “What?” she asked.

“How do you know about the Cell Games? Mom wouldn’t let us watch,” Max asked.

“She changed her mind about me,” May answered with a mocking smile.

“Cell Games?” Ash and Brock asked. Pikachu added a “Pika?”

“It was two years ago, you wouldn’t know while traveling around,” May said.

“The Cell Games was a tournament to battle Cell, whose blood contained those of the strongest fighters in the universe. It was nearly unbeatable, until my son, Gohan here, defeated it,” answered Goku. “And that guy who took the credit for it, lied.”

“You helped, you know,” Gohan said. Goku ignored him.

“You following this?” Ash asked Brock. He shook his head.

All of the sudden, Goku’s stomach gave a loud roar. He smiled and said, “Well, now we know what five days with no food does to ya.”

“I thought the Senzu beans gave you enough nutrition for ten days,” said Gohan.

“Then Karin’s losing his touch.”

“Well, we’re about to have lunch and I think I can make enough food for all of us,” Brock recommended.

“Really? Great! Thanks! I’ll go get whatever you need!” As soon as he finished saying this, Goku ran off to collect things to eat.

“Do you know how much Kakarrot eats, brat?” Vegeta asked. "His stomach's a bottomless pit."

“Then I hope he’s getting enough stuff to eat by himself…”

The group headed back to the clearing, with Vegeta asking himself how he sunk so low. Ash and Max set up the wood to start a fire so Brock can start cooking. Vegeta laid down and started to nap while Gohan played with May and Pikachu. By the time the food was ready to eat, Goku still wasn’t back yet.

Brock got out some Pokemon food and put them in bowls. He took out a few Pokeballs from his vest, threw them in the air and called, “Bonsly, Marshtomp, Forretress! Come out and eat!” There was a flash as they opened and the Pokemon came out.

“Forretress forr!” exclaimed Forretress.

“Marsh?” Marshtomp asked as Bonsly began to cry.

“There there, it’s alright,” said Brock as he picked up Bonsly and started feeding it with a bottle.

Ash and May did the same thing, called out their Pokemon and were quickly surrounded by Sceptile, Donphan, Swellow, Corphish, Combusken, Eevee, Muchlax, and May’s Spuirtle. Pikachu joined them in eating and the bowls were empty in no time. The Pokemon played while the humans and Sayians eat.

Nearly an hour had gone by when they finished eating before Goku finally returned with a giant fish on his back, surprised to see everyone full and playing with the Pokemon, except for Vegeta. He signed and ate the two-ton fish in eight bites.

Suddenly, there was a large explosion, covering everyone in dust. They were too busy trying to breathe to see the Pokemon get swept into a glass container inside a robot. Then they heard two too familiar voices.

“Prepare for trouble!”

“And you can make it double!”

A woman with long red hair and a man with purple hair rose from the top of a Pokeball-shaped robot. Jessie and James of Team Rocket smiled with victorious faces. Jessie began to sing Team Rocket’s motto, despite the fact no one really listens to it.

“To protect-“

“Put a sock in it already! No one here wants to listen to it!” Ash interrupted.

“I do,” said Goku, only to be ignored.

“Show respect to your elders, twerp! Now your Pokemon ours! Meowth, fire the missiles!” James ordered.

“Firing!” exclaimed a cat-like Pokemon from inside the robot. It pressed a button, making an arm come out from the side. The robot held its arm so the palm of the hand faced the group. A hole opened and missiles flew out.

Goku and Gohan rushed forward, stopping the missiles in their tracks by punching and kicking them. Any that flew near Vegeta blew up as he shot energy blasts at them. Soon, there was a pile of missiles on the ground, making Team Rocket worried.

“Im-im-impressive, but we still have the Pokemon. Run away!” cried Jessie. She and James hopped back into the robot. The robot tried to run backwards, but Goku’s too fast them. He was behind them and keeping from moving with only a finger before they realized he was gone.

“I don’t know who you are but I can tell you that I don’t like crooks,” Goku said. He wasn’t the smiling, care-free guy anymore. He looked like he was ready to tear someone apart. “Now, give the kids back their Poketrons-“

“Pokemon,” Max corrected.

“Whatever! Just let them go!” ordered Goku.

“Alright, alright!” cried the trio. The container opened and the Pokemon jumped out. They ran back to their trainers and Goku reappeared next to Gohan.

“Now leave. And don’t show your faces again,” Goku said.

“Don’t count on it,” Ash added.

Team Rocket was too scared to fight back. They turned the robot around and began to walk away. Then the arm extended, grabbing Pikachu and they ran for it, laughing as they went.

“Hey, get back here!” Goku yelled. He began to chase them with the others behind him.

“Pikachu!” cried Ash.

From nowhere a voice yelled, “Lugia, Iron Tail!”

A great silver bird appeared from behind them, its tail a glow. It swung its mighty tail, smashing the robot into scrap. The three was sent flying 30 feet and landed with a nice hard thud. Pikachu broke free of the robot’s arm and ran to Ash. Lugia flew in circles, waiting for the next move.

“We will not lose! Not even to the likes of you!” exclaimed Jessie. She took out a Pokeball and threw it. “Seviper, Poison Tail!”

“Cacnea, Needle Arm!” James said, also taking out a Pokeball. Cacnea started swinging its arm and the end of Seviper’s tail glowed purple.

From the bushes a boy appeared. He quickly yelled, “Ho-oh, Flamethrower!”

Another bird flew in, a rainbow following it as it went. It opened its mouth and flames burst out, scorching Team Rocket’s Pokemon.

“Seviper!” said Jessie.

“Ah, Cacnea!” said James.

“Lugia, finish it off! Thunder!”

Lugia charged up electricity and zapped Team Rocket. There was another explosion and Team Rocket flew off.

“Look’s like-!” they started before they flew out of sight.

“Shut it!” exclaimed Max. “Why don’t they know they’ll never win?”

The boy walked up to the group, the birds landing on either side of him behind him. “Your Pikachu is alright, then?” he asked.

“Yeah, thanks to you. I just can’t believe you have a Lugia and a Ho-oh!” said Ash.

>It’s a long story, Ash.< said Lugia through telekinesis.

Nearly everyone jumped. They heard that in their heads, but were mainly surprised that Lugia knew Ash.

“You’re the Lugia from the Orange Islands, aren’t you?” asked Ash. Lugia nodded.

“It’s right, the story going to have to wait. Name’s Sasuke, by the way. Nice to meet you all,” said the boy.

“You’re trainer, right? Have you competed in any leagues?” Max asked, hoping that he knew Sasuke from somewhere.

“Yep,” he answered. “Been at it for three years. I won the Silver Conference last year pretty easily.”
