I like that effects and it reminds me of Fragile Wii.
Why did you called this "A new lame banner"? It's almost perfect.

 

[Northern Lights]

I like the contrasts in the image.

Dark background, light detailing and effects. Blurred light spots, and then sharpened light spot in the midground.

You always make very nice clean images.

One thing, that slightly irks me; The text seems too pixely or blocky compared to the rest of the image, it looks like it has a shadow, making it appear almost 3D-ish ... which, i feel, doesn't fit in with the rest of the image.
