I would say that Octillery is one that I use in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, but not in any version.

Octillery learn all the beam moves and they have line-of-sight range, which is pretty useful in Mystery Dungeon games. Also, it naturally learns Bullet Seed, which by any reason is a line-of-sight move with a high power in this game.

Hmm. Well, ironically I first tried using Azelf competitively because of how much I liked it in PMD2... But that's different I suppose.

I use anything that looks cool in PMD2, since stats aren't nearly as influential or as varied as they are in the mainstream games.

Chingling. Its Wrap is invaluable for my party because it has crippled several outlaws/bosses that otherwise would have crushed my team. It is also easy to come by early in PMD2 and has decent stats. Too bad that it doesn't get much of a boost when it evolves...

Gible/Gabite/Garchomp: I don't have time to find a Gible in DP (they seem to be really, really rare, like Feebass). Having a dragon in your party is a benefit because you get great coverage and soaks up several common attacking types.

Ledian: Very useful for escorting a client in a dungeon because of Silver Wind, Mach Punch and Bullet Punch. Ironically, they also make Midnight Forest a pain to escort a client through b/c Silver Wind.
