A possible way to go to Hoenn and Kanto?

As you probably know, we will be able to interact with DP and RSEFrLg by putting that game in the gba slot and DP in the ds slot. If gamefreak wanted to, couldn't they design DP to allow you to go to Kanto if you have FrLg in the GBA slot, or Hoenn if you put RSE in? They wouldn't have to put in too many limitations; heck, they could allow us to get a starter from those regions as well!

As far as I know, it is said that this game will take place only in one Region and old Regions will not be in this game.

why on earth would you want to go to regions you've already been to?

if you want to be in old regions, play the games that feature them.

Simple as that.

I think he means the way Kanto was featured in the Johto series after you beat the Elite Four.

I think having it only if you have the GBA games in the slot is a good idea. If this happened, pokemon that aren't in Shinou could escape from Kanto/Johto and become obtainable in Shinou.

I love that 'escaping' idea, but how would you be able to tell where they escaped too? They couldn't have fixed locations surely?

We should be able to go back to those regions. We could follow a pattern 1st Gen(No Regions to go back to),2nd Gen(Back to Kanto),3rd Region(Didn't go back),4 Region(???).

It would definatly make teh game longer and betetr having more badges to earn if they did add kanto and the rest they should add the Orange Islands

There will never be any Orange Islands in the games. That saga was just filler because there was nothing to go to at the time.

ummm... the orange Islands are anime only.
and it wouldn't make the game longer... all it'd do would basically make it where you could play your previous game over again.... not the best idea in my opinion

In my opinion too.
Doing the same things like in othwer games is just plain boring.

You really can't establish a pattern with one example.

yes, orange islands was a filler saga (and one of the most interesting sagas btw) but it could happen on the games eventually, its not written in stone that it'll never happen...Game Freak might pull a fast one one day and say "oh here Pokemon Orange"...hey maybe not too likely but it could happen.

They said that about Hoenn, they haven't said much about Shinou so you definately need a link since i haven't heard anything about that.
i'm pretty sure it IS not confirmed unless someone can post a link.

same thing could be said about the FR/LG remakes you could have just played R/B..and just made those Pokemon available only from Colosseum/XD

As far as the actual thread that would be a neat way to do it and a very interesting theory, however:

I am not too familiar on how the DS gba slot works but from what I know i don't think the DS can read a game from both slots the way you are posting it could work.

If it could read the data the way you explain it (which like i said i don't think it can), it would still need to actually be programmed to D/P since the graphics engine is different anyways, maybe only being unlockable if you put the older cartridges but not actually reading the cartridges.

However the releasing the older Pokes in the wild in Shinou can be done, it would be very similar to Pokemon Dash on the DS that gives you new tracks with the different Generation III games, since it is just recognizing you have the games.

It's an interesting idea, but seriously, how necessary is this? You can already trade with the third-generation games; there's no reason for you for the Shinou protagonists to be on the prowl of these dilapidated regions when they can simply nab their Pokemon. At first, I enjoyed this idea as an extension of sorts (and yes, it has been proposed in the past), but now I am questioning whether it is worth the investment in time. Heck, for all we know they have the whole product done and pay nary a concern about your trainer going to the old regions, which really is a wise move since, well, why bother with something you don't need?

What gain is there to be had from exploring these regions which we know so well already? Besides of which, look at their graphics: they utterly pale in comparison to those of the new generation. I don't know about you, but it would seem more than a bit awkward to stick a three-dimensional-ish figure within an entirely flat realm.

I like the idea of going back to an old region ale G/S/C, just not the way it is proposed here. If they are going to have us go to an old egion it most likely be Hoenn, after the Elite 4 + champ. You get a ticket from Prof. *insert tree type*, for some fancy ship, and the Prof. says something like "Since you have become such a great trainer, you should challenge the Gym leaders in Hoenn!", or something cheesy along those lines. I'm just saying I loved G/S/C, and I think they might make Hoenn an area you can go to after beating the Elite 4, then you battle Brendan or May in Meteor falls, depending on your gender, after beating all of the Gym leaders in Hoenn, and then we all boycott Nintendo for making D/P almost exact copies of G/S/C.

and you are a ****ed up nub that needs to be banned. I've already seen your posts in the past and they are all garbage and childish so why don't you do us all a favor and grow up or leave.
As for the thread, why is it that so many people want to revisit these old regions? Leave the regions with their respective gens and lets move on to newer things. Shinou all the way, forget Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn thats all in the past; Shinou is the future lol.

I agree with you all the way.

I would like a quest that needs to be done after defeating the game.
But not a quest that is required to trade Pokemon from R/S/E/FR/LG to D/P,that would ruin it!

;227; Oh, so that you can trade your Lvl.100 Rayquaza/Mewtwo/<insert other uber> to D/P in the very beginning and breeze effortlessly through the game. =/

It's almost taken for granted that you will not be able to trade back without some sort of side quest.

I used to think that it would be a great idea to be able to buy a GBA cart that had info on another Region that you could just stick in and be able to go to aforementioned Region. But now I just want them to stay in Shinou and make Shinou as good as possible.
