A pre-evolution for Nyaasu

I know a lot of people don't like pre-evolutions, but I was just thinking.... they hand these out to Pokemon that are very popular, correct? So, why the hell doesn't Nyaasu have one yet? I mean, you can't deny that it's a popular Pokemon. I know I say this a lot, but thanks to his role in the anime, he's basically been boosted to a status of second idol next to Pikachu.... look at all the merchandise and promotions and such, his face is plastered almost everywhere that Pikachu is. For that matter, he and Pikachu pair up to star in their manga. The guy even starred in his own Game Cube demo, for Christ's sake. So I'm wondering, where the frig is his baby form already? I'm pretty sure he deserves it a helluva lot more than Mariru or Usokkii did.

This false assumption of Skitty in the Fakes section of the main site looks creepily like a Meowth pre-evolution. Perhaps that's what Skitty was intended to be, before Nintendo changed there minds and made Skitty a meowth counterpart instead?

I do think Meowth should get a pre-evo in D/P. It does seem odd that he doesn't have one, especially when other Pokes like Marril and Wynaut get them.

I'm not particulary a fan of pre-evolutions unless they're in some way beneficial or actually look spiffy, so I'm honestly not entirely bothered by it either way.
However, I do agree that it is rather strange that Meowth is yet to recieve one, whilst the least likely pokémon such as Sudowoodo and Mr. Mime do. I personally think both of them rock, but from what I can gather, they aren't exactly the most popular kids on the playground. Its rather baffling.

I'm not very receptive to pre-evolutions in general, so if Meowth gets one it better have some good egg moves. Otherwise I don't think it needs/should have one. :0

I am not too fond of pre-evos, personally. In my opinion, most of them are just there to fill up the Dex and look cute.
Surely if more Pokémon were to have pre-evos, they would have to be beneficial in one way or another. Imagine trying to breeding lots of eggs to get excellent stats on your Pokémon and having to raise a baby to the way through Happiness Quota every time. I don't know about others, but that'd be a royal pain in the neck to me.

Maybe they're planning on a 3rd stage instead. Nyaasu is pretty kittenlike. They could be planning on a lion-like pokemon or something for a final stage. I hope not. I love Persian. Hope they don't ruin them.

Meowth doesn't need a pre evo. Heck, Pikachu didn't need a pre evo. Ever since Pichu came along, I always saw Pikachu as 'just another 2nd stage pokemon'. Like Charmeleon and Nidorino and all.
Back when I used to watch the anime (and pichu was unheard of), I used to like Pika for being a puny basic pokemon, and being stupidly strong. He was such a little trooper
Now that he's a middle stage pokemon, he's got a reason to be strong, and that kinda bores me.
Don't let that happen to Meowth!

Actually.... Tetsuya and a Kantou Children's Day-based filler aside, the anime's never really portrayed Nyaasu as being an overly powerful Pokemon. In fact, its only real quirk seems to be that the anime features one capable of human speech (but it's quite a big quirk, regardless).

Now... I'm also rather surprised. Still, seeing how Meowth was based off the Maneki-Neko, I can understand why. They didn't want to ruin this reference with an over-cutesy Pre-Evo... or so I think.

Plus, Meowth doesn't seem to be THAT cute, if at all. Most Pre-Evos were destined to over-cutesy Pokémon trying to make them look cuter (And failing *coughigglybuffcough*), or given to rather "adult-like" Pokémon so they'd have a proper "childhood" form (Munchlax, Bonsly, Manene, Magby, Smoochum, Elekid, Tyrogue.).

Meowth? with a preevolution? Going by your logic Yamato-San, it would seem suitable for Meowth to have his baby form.

But in my opinion, Meowth it is right without it. I don´t like pre-evos ingame, becuase they are only a pain in the neck for getting your PokeDex done. In animé though, it seems fine to me, but it would be better without it anyway.

A penny? Wouldn't work. In case you're unaware, that obviously ain't American currency on Nyaasu's forehead. In fact, it's not even present-day currency if I remember correctly.

I'm sure fans would love a pre-evo of Meowth. A cute little kitten form of the popular Pokemon would probably be VERY popular. Maybe they could put it in the anime too.

But then again, Pichu didn't do much. Well, not until Emerald with Volt Tackle.
