A question about GIMP.....

ßubba

Oh yeah.
Ok, when you add a new layer to an image how to you get the background of the new layer to go away. I always use paint for banners, but I'm trying to learn how to use GIMP.

1) Open a new image (keep the old one open) and paste your render (in this case the Delibird) in it. Make sure the new canvas's dimensions are large enough for it, though.

2) Click the little wand thing (next to the lasso, in the tools), and click on the white background of the render with it.

3) Go to Select, and choose Invert.

4) Select --> Copy

5) Paste it into the banner.

Hope this helped. ^^

Oh yeah.
When I right click I cant copy and paste.

Okay, it's sort of different from the WBG tutorial. Here's what you do:
-Click File, Open as Layer, and choose the one you want.
-Go back to the tools selection and pick the wand tool (fourth from the left)
-Make sure the Threshold is zero.
-Click a white part and drag it so it's off the image.
-Click on one of the tan parts that isn't the image.
-Repeat for each white spot.

Should work, if I wrote it clearly enough. :p

Just use Control+C. But if you want to do it with right-click, you have to go into the Select menu. Either in the right-click dropdown or from the top of the page.

ßubba

Oh yeah.
Ok I'll try it. EDIT: yay, it worked.

Another question, after I download some brushes where do I put them?

Don't double-post. The edit button is there for a reason.

Do you mean a transparent background, or without full opacity?

ßubba

Oh yeah.
Opacity.

And I'm so sorry bout double posting, please don't report me.
