A question about the Pokémon TCG

So Pokémon TCG is available in many places around the world. USA, Japan, many European countries. Does anybody know if it is available in South Asia, specifically India and in the Middle East?

That is a question you should ask the website more directly. But on a less pokemon related scale it would be less likely that those nations would have the game setup (cards, leagues, etc), due to the amount of violence, religious beliefs, etc.

Way to be ethnocentric, man.

Okay, I am not sure if there are card distributors in India (assuming India since the Middle East is too broad to say anything about) but the Pokemon anime IS in fact being broadcast on POGO in India.

If in fact there aren't any distributors of the Pokemon tcg in India, try to contact companies that have to do with translating the franchise like Chaung Yi (publisher of pokemon manga, telephone is (65)6274 8713 and website is www.chuangyi.com.sg) or POGO for the anime (website is http://www.pogo.tv/). Let hem know that you'd like like TCG to be in India, and that you'd you really like their backing in contacting the Pokemon Co. to try to get them to sell the cards there.

It will be a long shot, so try to import some Eniglish cards (or a cards in a comprehensible language) and get a following for the TCG in your area. This will help in your trying to get a seller. Also, if a lot of the players can speak a language other than Hindi, get a hobby shop to import cards in that language, if available, for sale. Over time, this will catch Pokemon Co.'s attention, and may eventually lead to Hindi cards in the future.

Once this is somehow established, if it is in your, interest, you can get organized play in your area, for access to leagues (organizations where pokemon playing, be it the card or the video games (which I am certain is banned in India, or was at one point) amd tournaments, as well as representation in the world tournaments.

Read this article for information on getting organized play in an area that plays the cards: http://www.sixprizes.com/2013/02/06/rising-poke-nations-how-to-start-organized-play-in-your-country/

Lastly, don't be discouraged, South Africa recently got its hand at organized play. Pokemon is a huge franchise and won't be going anywhere, so there's nothing you can do but try.

Although I don't really care about tournaments and organised play, it was just that I want to get my hands on some real Pokemon cards...It gave me some relief to be on the TCGO but there also you can't get more cards without buying some real cards and I can't do that. And about the anime well its best not to say anything about it. They are like two-three seasons behind USA and recently the show returned after three months only for a rerun of Season 13. There have been promises that BW is going to start in June, well we'll see. Still thanks for the help guys. Do tell if you have any more suggestions. Oh and no, no Hindi cards, no. I'd be fine with English.

Imports then, either online or by getting a local hobby shop owner to stock them, and pay. If you just want the code cards, places on serebii, pokebeach/pokegym, etc. sell them at like 40 cents apiece.

Wow, this shows me how little people pay attention to the outside world.

It's India, the caste system hardly even exists, save for rural areas. Other than that, the Socialism isn't as heavy as it used to be. The oriental world is not all what you see on TV.

Talk about unheard of. This is a religious nation with terrorism, castle bs hasn't happened in nations like these for over 120 years since the up heaving war and corruption first began at the end of the 1800s (being the fact of selling off unused merchandise for high profits. However this is a thing of the past as India is currently trying to restructure itself as a stranglehold nation). Regardless pokemon does see the fact of selling itself in they're nation due to religious and political views as of current so at this time it's unheard of. If you have the ability to special order it, but still, good luck, you're nation it's rules. (India is not in the league locator only meaning it is not possible as of this moment, but good luck if you can).

P.S. Not attacking India, it is a strong nation on the rise, however as of right now it's not doable, wait another 3-4 years and it might be possible. Anything you can do personally however is a great contribution towards everyone's cause.

Hi im from India. Good news! There's a store in Bangalore named 'gundam galaxy'. I was puzzled by the same question you ask. I was never able to find original, genuine pokemon cards. The ones we get here are mostly fake. But this store has upped my hopes I must say! He expects his stock to arrive second Week of July 2013. The downside is that's its quite expensive. Its expected to be priced at 350 rupees plus or minus a few tens for a blister pack. Works out to about six dollars a pack. You can find him on facebook and get in touch with him. And hey dont worry. The prices are sure to fall, oncé the demand increases. And with fdi policies likely to kick in, companies like walmart and target are waiting to enter. This should help further with availability and prices. And hey sites like collectors cache and Potomac distribution ship to India. But high shipping costs. E bay India has cards as well. Just make sure the seller is credible. This should help you get your cards. Cheers.

This is literally the only information on here I have found that says anything aside from "This is what I think India is like." And thank you for that. Ven. Really? It's Pokémon, and India. We aren't talking about a freaking dictatorship. If South Africa can get organized play, then good god I'm sure we can get this man some real pokemon cards! Qwaa ;195;

I wasn't saying it was impossible, I'm just saying there is war there, also a few other simple fact. Then there is the fact of what people want on an economical standard, money speaks louder then politics nowadays anyways, and people won't say no to making money (beliefs seem to fall to the wayside on that one).

RzK@ Over that past couple years, India has made massive steps towards becoming more modernized, however since it has been going through massive changes, of going from a post-war economy into a state of civility. Unless you don't read the news. Yes in my past posts I made more of a statement towards India's looming past, my apologies for not accepting that nations change.
