After a certain age, it seems like most other kids start calling Pokemon "gay" or "stupid". Why do they bash Pokemon like this by about 4th or 5th grade?

I think this should go in the Poll's section but w/e... Mentally: It could be they think they are too big for games. Socially: They see that other people dont play it at their age, and they are afraid to be criticized by others... It could be a lot of things it depends on the person...

Why do kids bash pokemon? Because they suck. I personally don't care what the kids in my school say or think about me. Why should I care? Their the ones who have problems. Seriously. Whenever they say something like that, I usually say "At least I didn't spend my Friday afternoon in detention for sexually harassing girls." The sad part is that I'm not lying.

When people are between the ages of about 10-15 they get obsessed with trying to be older. So, since Pokemon is not violent or whatever, they find that Pokemon is too young for them. I think it is really stupid.

I think it really has more to do with kids just wanting to make fun of other kids than anything else. It wouldn't matter if you were into Pokemon or ping-pong, the kids who would make fun of you for liking it would still make fun of you. =/

I'm 16 told my parents I'm clinging onto one of the dearest things from my childhood, that I'm getting a DS Lite and Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire and the new games when they come out.

4th or 5th grade!? That is an outragus age (sorry my spelling) for kids to start hating pokemon. Kids at my school don't care that much about pokemon but they are fine with it. You are always a pokemon fan if you liked or like pokemon!

They probably start hating it because they think it's a 'kids' thing. Now that they 'think' they're all grown up, they feel that they're too cool for 'kids' stuff. So they tend to bash it to either gain attention or make themselves 'look' cool.
